Anyone experience this with Fujita SRI?

In fact, has anyone experience this with ANY SRI?
Installed SRI on the weekend and finally got around to drive it on the highway today. This was the first time hitting VTEC after SRI was installed.
After 6k rpm, the SRI pulls air real loud and the car moves and reacts just like when it was stock; however when switching the gear into 3rd around 7500 to 8000 rpm the rpm drops to 5k and the car (obviously not on the higher cam anymore) jerks and loses all the horses.. then with the gas paddle still pressed, eventually hit 6k again and started gaining the horses back again.. is this normal with the SRI? is this the heistation everyone was talking about with SRI? i'm a bit confused. i've read many many posts regarding CAI and SRI but this was the first time i actually experienced the feeling first hand.. any input'd be appreciated

um...the rpm's are always going to drop when you shift to a higher gear. the lag you felt was becasue you fell out of vtec. shift at 8200 next time and there shouldnt be any hesitation.

the hesitation i was referring to was much SEVERE to a point where i felt a need to post this thread. felt like i stepped on the break real hard for a second before kicking back onto the vtec.
i'm not sure how shifting at 8.2k will help when shifting at 8k+ dropped it to 5k.
also if it happened before SRI, it wasn't this severe where i even noticed it...
any other suggestion?
perhaps the installation wasn't as smooth as i thought?

Installation is straight forward, Either you installed it right or not. There is no in between. Just recheck all the fitments and clamps.

I have a fujita and have not experienced any problems. One thing that I did do was to let the car idle for 20 minutes and then drove her conservatively for 10 more before hammering on it....I was told to do this to let the maf adjust.....other than that, I have not experienced your problems Good luck though.

Yes, jimmy touched on somthing I was going to chime in on. I remember when i first installed my fujita it felt like my car was slower. During installation i had the battery unplugged and plugged it in after i was done. I let the car idle for ten minutes and drove it. At first it felt a little boggy and weird. Here is the deal, we have a very complicated ecu on our cars and what happens is when we put a less restrictive intake on the computer trys to compensate by adjusting a/f and timing and it takes a while for the car to learn and correct. Now what i have noticed is now my car pulls way harder and better than stock. I have had my fujita for about six months and the computer has learned to deal with the extra air that is being pulled in. One thing you should notice is the intake hissing or whooshing around 3000 to 5000 rpms. The design of it allows air to flow in a smoother more unrestricted way and this causes different sounds and frequencies to come out of it. It is very normal for this to happen at first just give it some time and you will notice your car pull much better and sounding less boggy and weak, the power is there though remember it may sound like it isn't pulling hard but that sound is deciveing to what is actually going on. Plus look at the dyno numbers, they speak for themselves. Congrats on the new intake man enjoys it.

sounds like something is wrong on your install. Recheck everything and make sure all the hoses are clamped correctly

tried driving hard again today and samething happens..
hmmm... maybe a side effect of having a sri?
unless i bring the rpm up to 8000+, the shifting will drop rpm below 5500 and the car feels like it hit a wall or stepped on a hard break... SEVERE enough i've noticed and posted this question.
i will recheck the clamps....

also,
when you are installing the filter onto the main pipe, how far are you supposed to push the filter in?
