Possible new tuning options for Si!!!

well, as you all know i have been talking to hondata some about the products and such. I have emailed doug at hondata again to see whats going on before i decide to do this. last i heard from them there will be NO KPRO! period. NO MORE REFLASHES FOR COMPTECH!! period. BUT they are in the works with some type of tuning program similar to k pro in some way. PLEASE READ WHOLE POST EVEN IF IT TURNS INTO 10 PAGES!

Today i visited driving ambitions here in sac because i know the owner. i talked to him about the Si and how im running a little lean right now. We talked tuning options. He was there since the start of my car at comptech (you all know mine was the test car) and was very familiar with it. Like i have said before in previous posts. Comptech Usa use to have a box on my ecu which if i remember its called an ACM or something close to that. My car was tuned with that BEFORE hondata ever had their product done. Comptech was going to just use this but then hondata finished so they changed their mind.

So i talked to Shad (driving ambitions) about doing the same set-up i use to have with the ACM box. he had one in the shop and showed me it and how the piggy back works. He said if i want, i can get some injectors for my stage 2 kit and see if we can plug this up and tune it like they have before. The only thing we may run into is the reaction with hondata and the injectors fighting against eachother. This may be the first way to tune our cars. one other thing, at the dyno meet i was at (prostreet) they talked about using the black box (i believe this is the ACM) to try and tune an Si and i think they may succeed. So keep an eye out for that as well.

Hondata is working on something but hwo knows when it will show. they work very hard. most of us think its just an easy chip or flash and its done. it took almost 3000 hours to make the k-pro. thats well over a year of full time work. So it takes awhile for sure. the last time Shad worked with Doug was on the Si with the CTSC and IPS cams for a special flash that made a total of 290 whp with all mods. He said suprisingly, Doug didnt know as much as shad thought he would know by now about our Si's. in fact, he learned like 4 things about it just in a few hours. So its just a very complicated system.

All that being said, im waiting on an email from Doug(hondata) to see what he has to say about what they are working on that way i dont spend the money and the next day hondata has somethin lol. if i get the reply saying not for awhile, i'll be saving money for a possible test tune at driving ambitions! so lets keep our hopes up!

hey saw your car at prostreet, thanks for the under-the-hood tour. Alex over there was talking about a possible emanage ultimate solution. Isn't GReddy packaging an emanage ultimate solution with their new turbo kit? I don't know much about ecu tuning...isnt the GReddy piggyback similar to what you are discussing?

I don't trust anything Hondata says anymore. People have come on here talking about ipro (crackhead), and then everyone says that either kpro IS coming out and give a million different release periods, or say that it's not coming out and don't explain as to why they say that.

I've been there when the owner of a shop called hondata and they said they were close to done with kpro and it should be released in the near future, and yet you say you talked to them and they said no kpro. wtf, really.

Hope everything works out though man (hondata or not), a lot of people need tuning capabilities.

keep us updated.
