K20Z3 type R head

Do any of you know a reputable place where we can order the type r heads for our K20Z3 engines?

I think this is the first major mod I want to do. Get nice new cam profiles and some better head work.

Why don't you save your $$$ for something that will yield better results, like RedShift Super Charger.

I can see where you'd want more aggressive cams but... I'm pretty sure the Z3 head flows AMAZINGLY well!!! Honda did a lot of work on the head to yield some awesome results. If anything just take it to a shop and get some work on the stock head.

yea
the difference between the z3 and type r wouldn't be enough to justify the cost

Well first off I had forced induction on my B16 del sol....forced induction sucks ass if you do not have a good tuner to do the work for you. I have a friend who also supercharged his B18 GSR and he hated it as well.

When I took off my JRSC from the del sol I put a type R head on the B16 and the difference was awesome compared to stock. Just figured it would be the same effect with the K20 series.

And as for as the mods list....I want to keep it simple....I have spent way to much money on past cars just trying to gain that 1-2 more horse power. This car is already a good performer so the main thing I want is to improve looks a little...headlights, wheels, exhaust badges (already got the 20% tint done now). The head is about the only power adder I am willing to spend big dollars on. I figure Head, high flow cat, reflash and greddy SP2 exahust will put me in a better power range than what i am in now for reliable daily driving.

our head on the k20z3 is as good as it gets. our IM has longer runners than the type s. our cams are type s cams. do a search and you will see!

You're right. Improperly tuned forced induction can be a major, major headache. On the other hand, a properly tuned FI is not only fun, but can produce a substantial amount of HP. :)

A good example of major headache was and apparently still is the AJP turbo kit, not to mention Greddy.

The RedShift SC looks to be promising, but we still don't know for 100%--->time will tell.

As far as mods and keeping it simple, why don't you get that Injen CAI, Greddy exhaust, and since you want to improve street driving performance, get the Hondata reflash as well. After you do all those, than let us know if you still want to get that DC5R head.

PS you can also throw in a Race Header, but than it will not be street legal (if you care), or if you care than throw a shorty header. Also I heard that Vibrant is making or made a RH w/ high flow cat.

IMHO a header is too much $$$ for the HP.
