Civic Type R has a PS Pump?!
WTF, the new Civic Type R has a Power Steering Pump and Reservoir..
(Read if your a newb: The Red Reservoir on the left of the Engine and the hose going to the Pump) ![]() but our Civic SI's do not, we have Electronic Power Steering..Weird huh? |

I've read before that electric assist removes some of the road feel which could possibly be the reason to use hydraulic assist in the Type R. If that is indeed the case, I would rather they have used hydraulic assist on the Si. I drove etf's Mini, Mean Mr. Bean last July at the Dragon and the steering feel on that car was awesome and much better than the Si's.
Edit: Nevermind...S2000s and NSXs had electric power steering and so do the new generations Minis. So I guess they are just tuned for more road feel and feedback than the Si's.
