About to change my mind about the Vibrant exhaust.

I just about had settled on getting the Vibrant exhaust, but don't know now.The clamp is no big deal, but one guy posted on how he had fitment problems with the tip and it burned his paint. That would be unacceptable to me.Anyone else leary of this or some of the other exhausts?

From reading some posts, Vibrant did a poor job of packaging this exhaust. As a result of this, during shipment the hangars were banging on the resonator and putting dents in it. Also the hangers got bent as well.

It is possible that the guy you speak of (who had fit problems and burned paint), didn't know what he was doing (or didn't know about bent hangers) , and did not bend the hangers back in position.

The fit of the Vibrant exhaust is not a problem, its the clamp.

My 2 cents

I had the problem with the tip and my bumper. It looked good when I was bolting it up and I guess I just didn't check very well but ya it was really pushed up against it and burnt a little of the bumper. Thats probably my fault but I bent it down as far as I could now its got about a quart inch of space between. The clamp still has some air coming out of it I have not taken it to a shop since there is no real problem. I still love this exhaust no matter what.

My 2 cents
+1.9 million

I am thrilled everytime i get to drive my car after my exhaust install. It sounds really good. I wanted a nice deep tone, and only loud during WOT and of course . If you drive the car normally it isn't obnoxious at all, and more importantly it never sounds like 2 bumble bees having sex

I would be weary of the Injen SES cat-back (2 1/2" piping with Titanium Tip). I purchased it and it ended up burning a small portion of my bumper even though it had plenty of clearance. The fitment was horrible and the way the pipes fit into each other makes it extremely difficult to adjust once mounted. I haven't even heard of anyone else owning this new exhaust on the FG2.

Edit: Anyone know of any carbon fiber heat shield's for the FG2 (like they make for EVO's) ? That'd be sick imo~

Love mine. No clamp problems. And, I didn't see any bumble bees in there either!

I was leary about the clamp but liked the overall look of the Vibrant Exhaust.
Finally I pulled the trigger and ordered it from Tai at Corsport, it arrived 2 days later! (Great Service and fast shipping from Tai!)
I waited until the weekend when I had time to install that baby and all I can say the quality and overall looks of this system is second to none. I did have a ding on my resonator but none of the hangers were bent because of it.
Fitment was perfect overall and everything bolted up just fine and without any issues. Because of the post that somebody burned his bumper I did slightly bend the hangers on the muffler in order to have more clearance between the muffler tip and the bumber. All I can say is these hangers are solid and superstrong and wont bend easily. I don't even know if I really did bend them because those baby's are very strong and almost impossbile to move. Anyway, all things fit exactly like they should and it was very easy to install.

Now to the clamp. This was the reason I almost didn't order the Vibrant exhaust. They cut a perfectly nice looking pipe in half just to save on shipping costs and then even forgot to include this clamp on the initial shipping of their product. I am sure that was an afterthought of theirs.
After reading people having trouble with the clamp and having exhaust leaks I was hessitant to order this exhaust. After installing the clamp I no longer have any issues with it. It is a really strong clamp with an inner sleave that tightens around the two separated pieces. So far no leaks from the clamp.
It is holding up just fine. No rattles, leaks of any kind. Just a great looking, high quality and most importantly GREAT Sounding exhaust system.

I am very happy with my decission to go with the Vibrant Exhaust instead of the Greddy Evo2 with it's Grapefruitlauncher of a tip
