Review: K&N SRI (EX Coupe)

Yesturday I installed my K&N SRI for my 06 EX Coupe.

Installation: It wasn't too bad. The directions could have been more clear for noob installers. However, after installing hundreds of CAI's and SRI's I knew where everything should go. The heatshield was a little pain to figure out at first though.

Idle: The car idled fine, I didn't get any CEL's or anything. When I had tried my home-made project SRI it would idle high, in the 2-3k rpm area. Somtimes it would stall after a minute or two. With the K&N, you don't hear any extra noise at idle.

Highway/City Cruising: Again, at 3k rpms on the road, it sounds like a stock motor.

Acceleration: Wow, this sucker opens up and screams. The RPMS go up a little quicker than stock, but you can definitely feel some pull now. The engine seems to breathe in air a lot better. It will definitely get me pulled over one day for hard accelerations.

Gas Mileage: I haven't tested it with actual data yet, but a normal 40 minute ride would eat up at least 2 little bars on my fuel gauge. I had driven for 60 minutes to get the same effect.

Dyno: No plans to spend money on the dyno as i'm not going to be doing any 1/4 mile runs or care about hp gains. This is probably the last mod beside exhaust that I will do for this car performance wise. I'll be sticking to my suspension upgrades and brakes more.

Cost: 155 shipped
