Question Dyno Suggestions? Tips?

Sorry for the repost...but I am going to dyno this afternoon. I plan on making the run in 4th gear. Do I redline or wait until the rev limiter comes on? Any suggestions appreciated.

Your driving it yourself? You should wait until fuel cut.

Here's a few that I've done.

1.Make more than one pass if you can afford it..three or four is a good number to do to get an accurate reading.

2.Even if you have to pay for it get an A/F ratio for each run.

3. Pay attention to the weather that day and at the time you do your runs

4.If you would'nt feel comfortable with the condition of your car running wide open on a hot summer day then don't dyno it.(Dyno pulls put alot of strain on the engine as there is'nt alot of airflow to cool them and the engine is definitely going to be pushed to it's limit)

5.Remember that the numbers you get are only numbers..every dyno reads different and different weather will give you slightly different readings.

6.Take it somewhere that has had their dyno for awhile...new dyno owners might miss something and the car may become unstable or the machine will not read accurately(therefore wasting your time and money on a false reading)

Good luck.

Thumbs up

Just got back in...pictures and slip scanned and posted soon. Thanks for the tips....I didn't bump the rev until the 2nd pull. 8500 RPM. Hardest I ever pushed the car. She loved it.

Baseline 179.02 HP - Max power 182.60HP

I'm assuming the car is stock? Also, what about Torque numbers?

Stock w/ 18,000 miles on it.

I wasnt able to get the Torque numbers. It was the first time for a front wheel drive there. They weren't sure where to hook in for the read. I know it sounds bad - but I didn't either (nothing like my H22). They called me today and stayed open for me so I didn't push the issue really. I may go back next week for those numbers.

It was nascar chassis dyno for a Bush team. They didn't know much about Honda's at all, but they were very impressed with my car.
