Exhaust / worth it?

Is an exhaust system worth it on the EX? Does anyone know if its restrictive at all? I'm thinking of getting a straight pipe from the cat to the stock muffler. I don't want a big can at the end to attract cops. I might modify the muffler a bit to help with exhaust flow a bit like I did when I had my RSX.

I couldn't stand how quite the stock exhaust was on my Si, so I got an axle-back for the time being, and it's sound like a million times better.

And if you want a car that can perform, get an M3...

Shit... He's got an EX and he, most likely, isn't going to switch out cars anytime soon.

Anyway, Jeshua installed the Magnaflow exhaust on his EX and got some decent results from it. I would look into that. Also, if it still works, there is a discount you can get the system for $350. Not a bad deal for a cat-back.

I'm not looking for an increase in hp as much as helping the engine breathe better and getting revs up quicker so it is a more 'fun' drive. I got the EX because I had gotten rid of my RSX-S and Eclipse GSX - I realized I dumped way too much money into them for nothing really.

I want the civic to be a reliable daily driver that is fun to drive while getting good gas mileage. Next summer i'll be purchasing a house. I have already started to look at a few, but i'm really considering building my own (acting as a contractor). I also have relatives that do some type of home construction such as escavating, plumbing, and HVAC so there is a lot of money I can save on labor. My g/f's dad also does custom kitchen cabinets and countertops. I, myself, have done roofing and siding. I know its a big project, but I do have a lot of people to help me along the way and looking at pre-owned homes isn't cheap either.

Actually, since I got my license, I had a different car at least once every 12-13 months. Sometimes I had two cars (usually a beater and a new/preowned) at once.
