Fujita SRI inputs please.

I recently went to my local auto-parts enthusiast shop, and they quoted me $180 for Fujita SRI, mind you that's Canadian.

I'm planning to try installing it with my friend, and if all fails we'll bring it to a garage

I've done some reading and people are saying Fujita is the way to go, seems like it's better than most brands.

First question, are there different versions for the Si that Fujita offers?

Secondly, do I need to re-set my ECU after the install so the car re-adjusts the air ratio, or am I totally wrong?

Third, would I be able to re-use this if I ever decide to go turbo/supercharge path?

I'm not getting a CAI because I drive this car year-round and sometimes roads will flood a bit, plus there's pretty big snowfall in the winter here. Also, the install looks a lot more complicated and cleaning the filter would be a lot more work.

1.) as far as i know there isnt a different version F5 sri, for our Si's

2.) you will have to remove the battery anyway during the install, so in short yes.

3.) no you wont, s/c or turbo usually comes with their own set.

hope this helps somewhat

Oh I did some more research, seems like some SRI's give CEL's?

I'm assuming that means Check Engine Light, does the Fujita give that problem?

If you're in Ontario, Canada, the placed I checked for pricing was Pacific Mall. The specific shop, I forget the name, but I looked trustworthy they sold lots of brand name parts and accessories, they were younger guys that had the no-bullshit attitude. I'm assuming they're racers/ricer's themselves. Lots of Asian influence in my area, I see Fast and the Furious all the time around here.

I saw these ultra sweet MoMo rims that I want also .. but I think I rather get exhaust & suspension done first.

Thanks for answering my questions, seems like I'm gonna for for the Fujita next week when I settle some bills first -____-

I like the Fujita intake. Its really loud! I found the install kinda crappy because I took out the entire stock airbox.. You dont have to do this but I didnt want it there if im not using it.

All in all good price good product...

I have the Fujita SRI and have had no problems (the only one i did have was an idle problem, but that was because i didnt let the car sit for 15-20 mins as indicated in the instructions. that is quickly is resolved by resetting your battery). The SRI is loud when going into vtec. some people dont like that, but i dont have a problem with it (i guess it depends on preference). also i never had the CEL to come on. it takes about 30-45 mins to isntall with 2 people doing it. it is not hard at all.

There is a wrinkled black version that looks pretty good. They didn't have that when I bought mine.

I installed my fujita sri about 2 weeks ago.
For that second question about resetting the ecu, you have to reset it? I thought the ecu automatically readjusts the air/fuel ratio... I think the only thing u have to reset is the code in the radio.

I've got the Fujita on my Si (Thanks to damdam ) and no CEL, its been about 4-5 months since and it works perfectly. When I just installed it though I didn't disconnect the battery and the CEL came on, once I reset the battery it never came back.

So you bought it for 180 at Pacific Mall?
Did it come with the hat and bag as well?

By resetting the CPU, I think they mean just unplug the battery and plug it back in. Which is something you have to do anyway. Once plugged in, you let it idle for 15 min and you're good to go.

I didn't purchase it yet, I just went there to get a quote and how long it would take to get one.

The guy told me $180 and it would take 2 days to get one, b/c they had to order it.

I will be getting it in a week or so when I clear up some bills.

You won't be sorry. I have had the Fujita SRI installed since oh, september or so, and I love it. Very high quality parts, never thrown a check engine light, and the sound is phenominal. Buy this intake, and start enjoying your civic

I have had it on for a few weeks with nothing but great things to say about the Fujita SRI. Just careful on the install with the coolant line, as blue coolant will come out just install the new tube quickly and you will be fine.
