If 2.5 is the outer diamater, then the inner diamater would be the outer diamater minus the thickness of the pipe.

I went and measured the pipe and the inside diameter is just a millimeter or two under 2.5 inches. Close enough

In my opinion, welding the two pieces together is a much smarter move than mechanically coupling to two together with a clamp when the two pieces don't even slide inside of each other.

If you don't plan on taking your exhaust off and selling it, than you don't really need to clamp it.

+1 I think the clamp was an afterthought. They really didn't plan on the clamp until they saw the length of that piece and figured it is too long for economical shipping. So they cut the piece in half and included a clamp to act as a sleeve sliding over the cut. This may be as good as using some duct tape and hoping it would never leak. Actually duct tape probably would seal better than this clamp since air will always find a way to escape in even the slightest crevis.
Anyway, I am going to install it with the clamp and then have an exhaust shop weld it.

The Hondata reflash is great! It's really nice to feel the car pull much better in the mid-range and all the way up to the 8600 cut off (although I've been limiting myself to 8500 - just because). I think it's a great mod as long as you have Hondata's minimum mods before installing the reflash. Just make sure you send your ECU in on Monday to minimize the turnaround time. I sent mine Thursday and got it back the following Wednesday. I hope to get it dyno'd soon and hope I get 200WHP with my I/E/Reflash mods. We'll see...

Did you bother to read the posts???? There are several pages discussing the clamp issues, look at my posts.

I am glad some people are not having issues with the clamp, but IMO I would get it welded to save some potential future problems.

+1

I actually just installed the sysem and took my time doing it. I torqued everything down to maximum strength and then took her for a test drive.

OH My GOD...
This thing really roars. And the soundclips really don't do it justice.
You really have to hear, feel and experience this in real life.
It is a lot louder then I thought it would be but in a good way. It sounds very deep and when you It really screams. All I can say is WOW.

So far no exhaust leaks that I can detect. I will give it a few days and see what happens. I will still get it welded just for the piece of mind but for now I'll just enjoy it

Scale 1 -10

System Looks: 10+
System Sound 10
Ease of Installation: 8
Performance: 8 - As Steve mentioned it isn't dramatic but it is noticable. No hesitation off the line and it's much smoother all the way to the top. Definitely more pull in the mid to upper rpm range.

Final note: Well worth the money in my book. But if you want a quiet system look at the Greddy Sp2 or the APEXI WS 2 because this baby is many things but it ain't quiet

Ditto here, I thought it would be a bit quieter than it is, but the sound is awesome! Also, no clamp leaks, here, so far either, but I'll keep watching...

One thing I noticed when I installed the clamp was that one of the clamps that clamp down the clamp was partially in front of the lip of the main clamp. This I would think would prevent the proper tightening of the main clamp on that side. I had to unscrew the one side of the tightening clamp in order to push it over the lip of the main clamp. After that the clamp tightened down without any problems and hopefully it will stay put.
But I will keep checking it for leaks in a few days.
So far no vibration noises or clicking noises or any type of noises. Just a nice sounding exhaust. I love that tip. It looks massive but not overpowering. It fits that cutout perfectly.

Glad you like it!!! Only thing I would add is that rev hang seems even less now after the vibrant install....it may be my imagination though. The clips do nothing for the sound is an understatement. Once again this thing sounds bada$$!!

Never had that much of an issue with the Rev Hang but I do agree that this system does sound Badas$

So you have the Si in Winterstorage? I guess you will retire your Landrover and take out the Si for Spring

I installed the system in about 1 hour and 30 minutes and that was taking my time. A shop should be able to pop that baby on in less than half an hour to 45 minutes. To take off the old exhaust it is only a total of 5 bolts.
3 at the cat and 2 at the Axleback section. The Vibrant has the 3 at the cat, 3 at the Axleback and 2 at the clamp. It's a very nice looking system.
I love that tip and it does sound even better than it looks

It might be a tad louder with your DCRH. maybe even a lot louder I don't know. Can't wait for the video. Keep us posted!
