Can't wait to see some vids with the Race Header. How much is the SSR race header and is your muffler shop going to install it also? That's one thing I probably can't install myself since I can't get to the header very easily.

Who cares if it has a clamp in the center section. My comptech exhaust came like that and they were the best in the business. Its been trouble free for 3 months now. In fact the fitment of the 2 pipes was so good, i didnt even need the clamp. Further more It needs no silencer even to meet Cali's tough 95 db rating. Sounds like vibrant isn't a very good company.

I personally like exhaust systems that seal with a flange connected to them not the clamps. i know when i had my ep3 i was looking into the magnaflow setup and they also connect through the clamps and i stayed away. i had some friends that had the magnaflow for their ep3 and it leaked alot and was hard to get the seal good. After a few tries they finally got it good and all was well, just my .02

If it didn't need a clamp how did you connect the two pieces that are equal in diameter? The Vibrant exhaust needs the Clamp in order to connect the two pieces since they don't slide into each other. The clamp is like a heavy duty band aid ( metal band with two clamps on each side) Without that band clamp the only other solution is to have it Welded.
I love the Comptech exhausts and would have gone that route if they wouldn't have gone out of business I would love to have their header.

I am selling them for $510 shipped. I can usually overnight them too for an additional $25.

I don't know what everyone is so worried about this clamp in the center section. There are many exhausts with band clamps. I have band clamps on my entire custom 3" exhaust on my car.

BMW/Audi and many European cars use band clamps on some sections of their exhausts. It will seal fine.

These exact same clamps are used on the current production Jetta Turbo (according to Vibrant). The clamps are good - no worries, mate!

Just got mine installed today. Looks great. I wanted a "low profile" exhaust, too, and one that wasn't round. I don't think the muffler is any lower than stock, but I didn't measure it. The tip is essentially flush with the lower edge of the bumper, which means that if you stand at the rear of the car and look straight down, you can't see the tip (the center of the bumber sticks out further than the bottom edge of the bumper).

Does everything go in strait?I mean, like does the tip sit center of the bumper cutout?I had a Borla on a 96 Miata nd my only complaint was that the tip would not stay centered. Also, the pics of the installation in progress,a couple of pics look as if the muffler is leaning or unlevel, but maybe that was before everything was hooked up.
