Sounds like poor quality control on Vibrants part since you are not the first to receive the Exhaust without the required clamp. I am with you, I don't trust clamps and prefer it to be welded also. I don't know why they didn't keep that piece together as a one piece unit?
Steve, does one of the ends slide into the other or are the the same size in diameter?
Thanks for the GREAT looking pics and your first impressions.
Looks like you got a Cat Front and back exhaust

Nice Pussy's btw I have 3 of them myself plus I feed about 5 strays that come to my house to eat not to mention the Racoons.

HOLY FU***NG S*** BATMAN, IT'S A "TRIPLE-DOULBE!"

Tom, the ends do not slide together. It was the first thing I tried. If they don't slide together, are they still supposed to be clamped together? I know that for the Magnaflow, one slips into the other. Not so for this unit.

If they don't slide together than how can they be clamped together? That doesn't make any sense. I think Vibrant goofed and forgot to put a flange on that part or another connector of some kind. Or maybe they are magic and like in Terminator 3 will just turn into liquid and then solidify as a whole

Keep us posted on your trials and tribulations. If you can get some pics at the mufflershop with your installed system on the car from underneath that would be cool! Overall it looks like a very nice high quality system.
Just wish they would have thought it out a little better. Of course like most exhaust cat back system this one probably didn't come with any instructions.

Good Luck tomorrow with the installation. Let us know how much they charged you to install it.

As compared to m1k3's picture above, look's like his was damaged in shipping! Very clean break, though, not sure how UPS did that...

The vendor is not the manufacturer and has no control over the production or the packaging process.

Vibrant Performance is clearly at fault.

They maybe sent you the wrong exhaust or some piece was wrong. Sucks, I want to order mine from them but now I'm hesitant until we get some solid info back.

I agree. The picture that Steve posted on the Exhaust that he received doesn't match the picture on the Vibrant webpage. Seems there is a piece that doesn't have anyway of being connected to anything.
It's a misinterpretation on Vibrants side. Since they make a whole bunch of other system I think they may not even know that they overlooked putting in the flanges on that "broken" piece.

It would be Vibrants responsibility to examine the contents of the box prior to shipping to make sure that all the pieces required are in there.

I will hold off ordering mine until this issue has been addressed and resolved by Vibrant.

This is not an isolated incident. This happened to at least 2 people that have received the exhaust. So it is more than likely a manufacturing fault or a packaging fault. Seems there is no real reason for that piece to be seperate from the other. That section in question should have been a one piece unit to the Resonator and then the REsonator and then the Axleback section. That makes sense to me and that is what is shown in their picture. What happened?

can't wait for the rest of the review. Sucks about the clamp and all, but the exhaust does look really good.

For all of you that thought I was a fool for claiming first that this system required welding... I forgive you! I don't need your apoligize. And for those that tried to reduce my rep I also forgive you.

I just spoke with Vibrant Performance and let me just tell you the only company that provides as great customer service as Vibrant is probally Nordstrom. For Vibrant! The only thing that comes second to the quality of a product is Customer Service and Vibrant nails it! +1 for Canda!

I wonder how many others have been shipped without a clamp and I bet there are some people trying to make it work with Duct tape

Hey, what's a V-Clamp Look like? I still can't picture how two equal pieces without sliding in can be connected without the risk of severe exhaust leaks?
