I just installed my vibrant exhaust.... and wow!!!, i love the sound (especially in vtec) and the look. I got nothing but compliments including my girlfriend and her dad who is a cop and a mechanic ,and he has alot of experience in imports. The only bad thing is its going to have to be welded bc of a small exhaust leak were the clamp is. All well its no biggie and worth it IMO. Highly recommend this exhaust for anyone who wants a stock look and louder stockish sound.

I just had mine intalled the other day and I like the wy it looks and sounds. It is a lot louder than I expected however, so I will have to see if I get used to it, if not I might have to go with the Tanabe.

My name is David not Robin, but any way there were about 10 people to every one that said it was quiet. Also it's starting to melt my bumper. I don't notice any difference in performance either just an annoying drone.

There should be at least an inch or so clearance between the bumper and the exhaust tip. I don't have that much of a drone and no you wont feel much of a performance difference since it is a cat back and regardless of which one you go with it will not make much more than maybe 3-5 HP difference which isn't enough to "feel" Get a raceheader if you want some noticable performance but it will be a lot louder. Or add some Nitrous. That really will make you feel the difference. I always said the Vibrant is on the louder side but I like the sound of it. If I get a raceheader I will probably go with a quieter exhaust. ![]() If you want quiet I would go with the APEXI WS2. Nice exhaust and one of the quietest around. I didn't care how the Tanabe Sounds but that is just me. The Apexi WS2 or the Greddy Sp2 would be my choice for quieter exhausts. |

Well I have the HFP body kit so the rear valance sits lower than the bumper and that is actually what's melting. I have to get around to trying to bend the hangers I just don't have two hours to wait for a lift right now. I hope that fixes it though. I wonder if anyone would be interested in a lightly used vibrant cat back?

Welp this afternoon I took some eagle 1 metal polish and cleaned up the vibrant. I was wrong, the previous owner's bumper had not melted on the tip. It was just some very, very stuck on something or another. Needless to say, it took about 40 mins of furious scrubbing to get it off. Glad it's off! I was upset that I had a big, black splotch covering up part oft he vibrant logo on the tip. Now she's all clean and ready to go for sunday

update on my vibrant exhasut....I've had it on now for about three weeks and it seems as if it has quieted down a bit. It's loud when I jump on it but at cruising speed it"s mellow...I noticed some drone at freeway speeds in 6th gear but that has also toned down to acceptable levels......So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Hey, have you seen that vibrant now makes the same exhaust for the R18 sedan? I have an R18 coupe and I was thinking about getting the exhaust and cutting the mid pipe to fit, thats the only difference between the sedan and coupe exhausts right? just a mid pipe that's two inches longer? Anyway I wanted to get this exhaust because I like how it sounds on the Si and i'm guessing it should sound similar on the R18. Just wondering what you guys thought or if anyone has this exhaust yet.
Thanks |
