I installed my Vibrant catback yesterday, and with a race header... ZOMG IT'S SO FRIGGEN LOUD. Even at 1/8th throttle, anything over 3k rpm leaves me looking in the rear view for flashing blue lights. It echoes in underpasses, even when I'm NOT in the underpass. A friend confirmed by sticking his head out the door of his apartment 1/4 mile away and could hear me hitting the 8k. There was a cat thinking about crossing the road, three cars went by, and as I passed, I blipped. It ran away, up and over a fence. I'll probably play with it for another month just for the novelty of scaring animals and children, then sell it on here.

Minor dents in the resonator and the headaches associated with a clamp aside, the exhaust seems to be of good construction and fits well. It took me 1 hour to install, and that included jacking the car up and setting it back on the ground.

Great exhaust I love it as well, but I wonder how many people did not have dents in the resonator when they got it. Everyone I know who has purchased this exhaust has had a dent or two......makes me wonder somewhat.

I think it is their trademark I had 2 dents and 3 dings in mine but where it sits it really isn't visible and it doesn't impair the functunality of the item.
They were suppose to have redesigned the packaging but I guess that didn't help.

Just curious, did your resonator have a dent or dings?

yea it does, i bought it of ebay but first thing the seller described was that the resonator had some dings. was a little hesitant but read that they're all like that. but i think the looks and sound of the exhaust make up for it.

How loud is this thing? I don't have any other mods right now but I'm really considering this exhaust, I just don't want something too loud or ricey.

Pretty loud but in a deep and rumbly way and not like the AJP or Skunk 2.
The exhaust looks and sounds GREAT It is louder and deeper sounding than the EVO2

Loud enough to know you have an aftermarket exhaust, yet you still have hearing when you park the car.

I don't mind if it's a little loud at WOT but what about just driving along, say on the highway? Is there an annoying drone? Sorry for all the ?s but want to make sure I get what I'm looking for, and I'm in Germany so it's not like there a lot of these running around.

There is some drone, but not enough to become annoying at least not to me. Honestly, my wife thinks it is to loud and drones to much so perhaps this exhaust isn't right for you. This is from a person who dislikes loud cars though, but I wouldn't want you to be disappointed. I honestly think it is only a lil' louder and deeper during normal driving, and gets loud when I open it up.

Can you have a normal conversation and or hear the radio while driving? What other mods do you have?

Where in Germany are you? Since you are in the millitary I don't think the TUV would apply to you but I bet with any aftermarket exhaust you may get the attention of the local Polizei Highway cruising is quite pleasant.
I don't think there is much of any drone. You can still hear yourself talk and carry a conversation. Now I don't usually cruise at 120mph like you probably can on the Autobahn so the noise level may go up a bit at higher speeds.
At 75-80 mph it sounds great.
Personally if you are in Germany I would go with a quieter exhaust like the Greddy SP2 or the APEXI WS2. Both sitll sound pretty good but are a lot quieter than the Vibrant Exhaust. Even with your military plate you may still get a ticket for noise polution. And they take that stuff pretty serious over there.

I have a R/T cat and a SRI, and the R/T surely has made things louder . Even now though you can "hear" each other talking no problem and I listen to my music somewhat loud anyway so no problem there either.....if you feel like taking a trip I live close to Busch Gardens you can come drive it to see if you like it.

I'm in Kaiserslautern about an hour west of Frankfurt. I'm not really worried about the cops here, they don't bother us too much, and yeah taking the Si on the autobahn is really fun. I thought about those other exhausts you mentioned but I like they way the vibrant looks almost stock, I don't want a huge exhaust tip sticking out. I will have to look at them. I f i go with the greddy or apexi and decide to get the vibrant header/cat combo later will it still bolt up?

I'd love to but it's kind of a long drive.
