I've done two exhausts now by myself, with a jack and ratchet, and I dont consider myself mechanically inclined. If you can find a cheap installer ok, but it's still hella fun to do yourself.

you can pick up a jack with jack stands at Autozone for like $25 if you don't have one, save them for furture use, get to know your car a lot better, and still save like $50.

I agree with everyone else. This is an ultra simple DIY . If you have the money to shell out to pay for the install, you have the money to buy the tools. Plus by doing it yourself, you not only get the piece of mind that it was done correctly and a sense of accomplishment, you also get to know your car a little better and can tell people "I did that."

i actually did buy one from autozone and it doesn't jack the car high enough to actually get under it to install the exhaust. i tried and wasn't enough. was able to put in the progress rear sway so atleast it wasn't a complete waste of money.

i was able to install my RT cat with only jackstands that lifted it about a foot.. you should be able to do it with basically any jack and i highly recommend doing it your self.. not only to save money.. but it gives you so much more pride in your car and in yourself. if your worried about being squished, do like i do, walk around the car like 5 times pushing and shoving and bumping the sides of the car to make sure that it is on their..
i was under the car once reconnecting my friends shift linkage when it shifted b/c it wasnt in the middle of the jackstand... it barely moved.. but omg one of the most startling things ever

Somebody has some phobias... hehe, did u get sat on by the fat kid a lot when you were a child? j/k the only time that I am nervous under the car is when I'm under it with only the jack (which is really stupid to do), with ramps or blocks you're all good.

Goodyear do it for $40. DIY is what I recommend but it is pita for those rubber and bolts.

I will change my own when it comes time. Will Rhino ramps get the car high enough?I changed the exhaust on a 96 Miata with these ramps,so there shouldn't be much difference.

I take mine to a shop and use the lift. It's about $5/hr, and they provide all the tools they have available. It's truly a sweet deal

you shouldnt be afraid if your car above you. just get a jack and proper jack stands and rest the car on them you will be fine. Or if you know anyone that has them ask them to help or something its really rewarding doing your own work But its not like I never paid for work on my car so its quick and easy if you want to do it that way. Usually ppl pay like 60/h to 85/h for work. For a exhaust install it shouldnt be more than like 70bucks.

Hey they have a great step-by-step article of how to install an exhaust on a 06 Si in the Super Street Magazine. If that would help you out!
