twm cable bushings

looks like twm offers some cable bushings now, so theres someone giving corsport some competition. but for their short shifter, base, and cable bushings is over 100. it would be nice if corsport would make a bushing it that had base and cable bushings. heres the link

It says for "Bronzoil shifter cable bushings for 2006 ONLY (optional)" on the bottom. Is this a mistake? Should it be 2006-2007? Are there changes to the linkage in 2007 that we're not aware of.

TWM? Buller?

Yes there is a change. I have the Corsport bushings on my '07 and the smaller bushing is too small with too much play when installed.

Good to know. Thank you. Are there 2007 bushings out?

I think it is a matter of time before everyone hops on the "bandwagon" and start offering package deals on

1 shortshifter
2 base bushings
3 shifter bushings
4 Etc.

Corsport is in the process of making the 07 SI Cable Bushings and they will be shipping in early May. They will be $30 (shipping included), where TWM costs about $45 w/shipping.

I talked to Tai, and he said that he may think about making the Base Bushings for the SI in the future.

As far as the Short Shifter & Base busings TWM is the only one making them right now.

True, Corsport's bushings are $30 shipping included however if you buy our short shifter and add the cable bushings they only cost $30.95 with no additional shipping, plus we have 2006 and 2007 cable bushings in stock right now. Our cable bushings do cost a little more, but this is due to the material used. Bronzoil is much more expensive than aluminum per unit weight and volume because it is designed for use specifically as bushing material and is self lubricating.

If you do go ahead with the full Civic short shifter kit (shifter, base bushings, and cable bushings), you save about $25 over the cost of buying them individually which far offsets our shipping costs.

Thanks,

Kevin

Yes, it will be less expensive to buy the whole kit (Base, Cable & SS), but than you will be spending more $$$ all together.

I agree with your marketing strategy, its nothing new, but it works.

PS I wish that your shipping would be less. $12 for a couple of small bushings and C clamps is a lot. (From Montreal to Chicago)

Why don't you send them regular mail???

Hi,

I wish our shipping was less as well. Since we ship from Canada, our shipping rates are higher because UPS incorporates the cost of customs brokerage and customs documentation as well. We have no choice to charge what we do for shipping, in fact we absorb some cost with our shipping rates. You can verify this yourself if you like, check www.UPS.com for a shipping quote from our location to yours. Our address can be found at: http://www.twmperformance.com/contactus/

We have tried regular mail, however the results are usually unacceptable. Shipping regular mail from Canada to the US usually takes so long that our customers become very irate. UPS has proven to be the most cost effective and reliable from Canada so far (and we have used many different companies over the years

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I appreciate the input.

Thanx for a quick reply. What can you do about that shipping......nothing. However that will not stop me from ordering from you in the future.

Keep up the good work.

Blah... good thing I didn't install my cable brushings yet. I didn't think there was a difference between the 06/07.... guess I'm gonna have to sell my 06's.

Same here, if you bought the cable bushings from TWM, PM me and we can arrange a swap of the bushings for the '07's.

I installed them about a week and a half ago. I already had the Neuspeed SS and I bought the 07 twm cable and base bushing kit and installed them. I can honestly say that the bushing brought the ss out. The bushing makes the car shift like another car completely. Its the best 50 bucks you will spend on your car.

Nice review, thanks! The cable bushings do make a huge difference when installed with a short shifter. They actually make a surprisingly big difference even when installed with the stock shifter, they just make everything feel a lot more direct.

Thanks again,

Kevin
