AEM - Full I/H/E Setup?
Anyone have a setup with all AEM products?
From CAI http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=125 With AEM's Race Header http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=207 To AEM's Header-back exhaust http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=746 Seems like an interesting setup to have Just looking for people's opinion, I haven't seen/heard anyone run a setup with AEM's headers or exhaust... |

My post may seem a little one sided, but I am just trying to keep you from wasting your money and making a big mistake. This is not from personal experience but by reading posts from other people on this site
AEM and DC sports are the exact same company (AEM bought them out a while back). Here are the facts from the AEM website if you need it (2nd paragraph) http://www.aempower.com/AboutAEM.aspx I think alot of people have the DC header and exhaust with an aem CAI. Even though it is on the AEM website, the product you will be getting is actually the DC sports race header and DC sports exhaust sytem My opinion is that the DC sports/AEM stuff out now is all garbage and not worth the hassle trying to get the headers and exhaust fixed when it cracks because it ceramic. I heard some horrible stories about the AEM CAI also (people losing steering and CEL). I would go with either an Injen or Fujita intake (either SRI or CAI), any header other than DCRH, and Greddy (quiet) or AJ performance (loud) exhaust Here's a post from somebody with the AEM CAI an intake that almost killed me (AEM CAI) Perhaps somebody with personal experiences can add to this post (either postive or negative comments) Last edited by 06si; 02-19-2007 at 12:49 AM. |

I have had the AEM CAI for about 5 months now its great I used it on my old ride and it was great then too. The problems u hear r probably from a faulty install because I had a a honda mechanic do it and it all worked out great. No cutting to make the elbow of the intake fit like they recommend too either...

I have the AEM CAI, DCRH, and Exhaust. I had the setup for about 3 months now. The only problem was with the exhuast, cuz it deletes the cat and CEL comes on. I installed CEL eliminator and it totally took care of the CEL!

The exhaust does not delete the cat, that's your race headers. How do you like the DCRH? Have you had any problems with it yet? I've heard a lot of problems with their flex pipe cracking and some other welding issues.

IMO i'd skip on the dcrh and either get the SSR one or wait until comptech makes one if you want a race header. Much better quality and will last and perform a lot better. (yes it will cost more too)
Injen CAI FTW too. As for exhaust i'd probably choose anything but DC. Their quality in their products just isnt there. Waaay to many problems for several different people on several different products. Its not just like its one small problem on one item. Do your research before you spend your money. You'll be much happier in the long run that way. Hope this helps. |

True, there are other options out there like Comptech, SSR, HyTech and so on... It just depends what your ultimate goal is. For what I have, I have had no problems. ...and yes, any ceramic header will crack eventually. If you have the money to spend on a better header... go for it!
