K&N filter with 3 inch MAF sensor connector

Hey all,

I jsut bought my Si Sedan Wednesday and put a K&N filter on my car on Saturday for $35.00 with a universal MAF sensor pipe. I will post some pics soon, but it's an alternative when waiting for you Ice box like myself. I bought the parts from Pepboys and modified the Maf Sensor pipe to hold the stock sensor. I also took out my Intake Resonator and left the bottom of the stock box for some cool air to enter underneath the filter. I have thrown no CELs and the car is a little more responsive in the midrange. You also get the sound you want from a short ram without paying for it. The install is clean and I hope to get the pics up in a couple of hours here at work. Thanks

The files are too big, I could only attach the one thumbnail. But it's a decent picture.

I only see one, too. Looks like the K&N typhoon without the heat shield..

It does the trick and easily swaps back in less than five minutes. I'll rty and fabricate my own heatshield. I'm also going to Powdercoat the MAF sensor housing. Should me easy and cheap.

Yeah I know there are intakes out there for $200.00 plus. But I'd rather get the same results with much less money and I'd like to try and be original with "Quality" in mind of course. Just thought I'd share. Thanks for the opinions though.

Not at all. The rubber on the filter keeps it pretty quiet.

How does it sound? I would imagine just like any short ram.

It's really a cheap way of having the sound if you have a filter just laying around like I did. But you really won't make any power like an intake should. I recently intalled my AEM SRI and there's a difference between that and just a filter.

I bought it from Pep Boys. If you go to their aftermarket isle. There should be an area where they have cheesy pipes that you can build your own weak ass cold air intake. They have different pipes for all kinds of sensors. It should be about $15.00 I still have mine if someone wants to try it out on their car, here in the Bay Area.
