Intakes and car washes

Hey to all

I have a noob question, my car after tommorow will need a serious under carriage washing. Am I able to take my car through touchless wash with out getting hydralock? Worse comes to worse I will find a unfrozen hose and hose it down myself. Just wanted to get other peopls opions.

Sorry spelling and grammer suck today I have a big headache on the go.

Awww...hope you feel better. You should be fine. Hydrolock happens when your car is sitting in standing water. Car washes are only a few minutes and the water is never high enough to submerge the filter.

the one I like to go to shoots the water straight in the air, so I was worried it might some how get water into the intake as I drive slowly through it.

You should be fine. I have my fogs of right now and accidently squirted the filter with the hose. Seemed like it didnt soak up any water. Ran the car about 15 mis later and nothing happened.

Unless the filter is submerged for a long enough to get the water into the filter, you should be fine. Shouldn't be any submergence going on, unless your car wash has a pool....

Thanks for the input from all, I have been staying away from them due to the intake in my car, Wednesday will be the test as we are getting 10cm of more crappy snow. My car looks two tone now...mettalic blue with a salty white color.

SNOW AND SALT FTL....
