If you guys need either the exhaust or header I have them on sale in this link:

Comptech Header, Exhaust Sale - Civic Si 06-07 2DR!!!

Yes the shorty header will see maximum gains with the exhaust. Comptech highly recommends doing the catback exhaust with the header.

That's pricey for how much work you'll do and how little of a power increase you'll see.

I will go with a shorty and a test pipe.

I dont think that there will be a lot of difference in gains between a Race Header and a Shorty without cat. I bet that it will be no more than 2-4whp of difference and spending an extra of $400 for a "better" header (race one) is pointless.

But that is my thinking.

Who is producing/developing a test pipe for the Si?

As far as I know no one.

But maybe I will visit a local shop that specialize on test pipes and do one for the SI. If they can do one of good quality I will do the arrangements to sell them on ebay or any other online shop.

shorty header + no cat= similar performance to RH

Want to bet?

Is easier to exchange the test pipe with the cat than the whole system at the moment of an emission scan.

you can also gut the cat, or just weld a damn pipe up there.

+1, people see the word "race" in race header and think the world of it. the shorty and test pipe combo is much more practical for emissions checks too. no need to pull the entire header out.

Recently I spoke with a friend who had a RSX-S with a few things like KPro, DCRH, Cai, Exhaust and Hondata IMG. He told me that his DCRH broke too like the other ones that many people already know but he dont return it to the manufacturer he just take it to a local tunner who have the equipment to build turbo manifolds, header, everything exhaust related. The tunner change the flex pipe to a better and stronger one (since this is the source of the problems with this header), after that he (the RSX owner) never had more issues with the DCRH.

Maybe I will do that too, order it take it to that person and make it a little bit stronger. After all it will be cheaper than a Comptech Shorty Header.

More information should be posted to the Comptech website by Friday. Hopefully, more information will be given about the estimated gains from their header and exhaust.
