Magnaflow Street Series

I installed my new Magnaflow Street Series today, and holy wow, does it sound very nice and subtle. I'm not into LOUD raspy "look at me" exhaust systems. It doesn't have a huge fartcan sound, but a deep-toned race sound. Of course, "this thread is useless without pics/sounds" and very soon I'll post up pics. Or by request. Of course, it's -30 with 2 ft of snow outside.

I have done a lot of modifcations to my car as of late, so there is no point of posting progress pics because there is a lot of, well, progress.

So far on my TW Si:
Magnaflow SS twin-tip
MR7 17" Gunmetal rims
K&N Typhoon
Silverstar ULTRA low & hi
chrome rear signal lights
Skunk2 6spd knob (gunmetal)
TWM short shifter w/alum.bushings (not installed)
35% tint ALL around.

Anyone wanting pics? lol

Darryl

Happy Holidays

Ya, my profile says I f****** hate boomboxes. Does a single 12" sub consitute a boombox? LOL no.

I am talking about those cars who rattle the sh1t out of anything living, and those drivers who tilt themselves to the side of the seat, while driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand on their automatic shifter.

Oh, and it's still up in the air to buy yer stuff. I really want it, but really want this now instead:

OOOOH YES.... I'm getting one in Feb.

Sure thing, I'll do that against my garage one day when I post the whole car. The ULTRAs are 20% more brighter than regular silverstars.

Could you please post pictures of your exhaust? Thanks and congrats on a "sound" buy (ahahha).

Darryl, congrats on you mod. You seem very happy with it. I was considering something from Magnaflow as well but wasn't sure what model or type exhaust would work and sound best. Was this an easy bolt on job or was it more involved? Got a model number for us perhaps? And I noticed it has twin tips. They fit OK in the existing opening? Without rubbing and such? Inquiring minds need to know! LOL Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for a throatier exhaust note but don't want to spend big bucks or have anything too raspy.

^ Thanks dude. Model 14816 is the number. Twin 3.0" fits very well. They put it on a little wrong, which they'll fix. It sticks out a little too much for my liking, but man does it sound sweet. No rubbing at all. g/f paid $175 CDN for this, and I paid $75 for install (using custom hangers etc) so it wasn't too bad.

Early Christmas present for Princess Taffy.

I'll post pics, promise, once it warms up because seriously, it's -30c and frostbite literally in seconds when the wind hits. It'll warm up by this weekend.

Damn, don't know how you Canucks handle that kind of weather. I complain about the wimpy winters in Ohio! LOL

Thanks for the exhaust info. Going to check into it myself. Have a place here in town that can do the work I believe. Twin tips seem like a good and different idea. I don't really like the black opening 'effect' look of the stock Si exhaust tip. Just a regular round/oval tip would have been nicer with that plastic or whatever is there.

Keep warm.

Here is the pic of my muffler. Keep in mind tomorrow it is getting adjusted; they installed so it stuck out too much, so it will get adjusted upwards and in more tomorrow.

Well, when I use my ricer-math calculator, it adds to 12hp for the exhaust, and 11hp for the intake. 220 baby!

Realistically, however, probably not a hell of a lot, because the Si's exhaust flow was high from the factory.

Sorry, but the dual pipe looks bad. Just my opinion though.

^ You're entitled to your own opinion dude, no need to be sorry. Like I said, I had the muffler shop bring it up a few inches, and 6 inches back. Looks waaay better.

Let me ask you, you must have a huge 6.0" single round exit... It seems people with large single outlets hate smaller dual outlets.

The muffler looks alot better then I thought it would, a great change to all of the oversized ones most people have.

Have you been driving it in the snow??

unfortunately, yes. I should have put a coat of wax on it before the salt really starts taking a beating on it. It's stainless steel, and well made, so I'm not too worried.

I'll take a better pic of it. It looks 100% better than the pic above.

Whoa. I'm jealous. I got a single tip from Magnaflow. I can't really complain since I didn't pay for it... wanna trade? :P
