Cat Question

I know the R18 has 2 cats. One right where the header is at and another one under the car. If you were to replace the second one with just a straight.
a.) Would the car get louder?
b.) Will you gain HP?
c.) Will you loose LOW END TORQUE?

I have an SI and I'm cat-less. I actually noticed a gain but only reason is because I'm boosted. If your n/a keep your cat.

Where did you hear that the R18 has two cats? It has only one, the one in the engine bay. You may be thinking of the resonator instead of the cat.

The stock resonator is welded onto the mid-pipe. You will need to saw it off and weld a new pipe on, or patch the stock one. Without a resonator you may gain a little more top end hp (but may also lose some low end torque<<unsure if it will happen;hasn't been tested on R18 motor yet) And yea it will be loud and most likely have a raspy sound. I would suggest you wait till a proper catback exhaust comes out for the R18 or you can get the magnaflow one now.
