Talking Installed Injen CAI on R18

I got my intake this weekend from Corsport. Installation is very straightforward, the Injen instructions are very well done, and the DIY's here clear up any questions. Only hiccup is that you need to buy new hose clamps for the breather hose.

And of course.......videos

and then my trying to shift .... and hitting rev limiter due to the lag...

Technically, you would be able to put the filter at the point where the two pipes connect. However, this would be right behind the radiator....and it would be a tight fit for the filter. Right after I spent 15 minutes wrestling the two pipes into place and connected them, I remembered I wanted to test the feasability of a short ram intake.

Stolen picture...but this is where the filter would have to go. Not pretty, and it aint really gonna fit.

What kind of hose clamps do you need to get? Are they available at any Advance Auto Parts: if so Part #?

They were $2 at my parts store. They look like the hose clamps on the intake connectors, except smaller.

Looking at this pic I would think you would need a different style air filter.
Plus being right behind the radiator fan I think you would have to rename it HAI ( Hot air Intake)
Better off stock than sucking all that radiator heat.
Nice work on the install and thanks for the pics.

Went out and held a filter in there to guess how it would sit as a short ram. the filter would be touching the radiator and battery. plus, there is no bead molded into the pipe there for the filter clamp to "grab".

I thought it was a manual until i noticed the auto shift indicator.I like how the 5spd auto holds the revs in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Yup. Smartest auto I have ever driven. Never hunts, and eventually, you know exactly what it will shift to and when it will shift based on how hard you gas it.

The clamps that attach the breather hose to the intake and valve cover. The stock clamps are too small, even when you open them all the way with pliers, you cant get them around the tubing.
