I just oder my injen cai from corsport and have a question..

I heard the black power coated intake is better because of heat issues or something, but while odering my injen cai i forgot to tell them to send me the black one isntead of the silver one, will it really make a difference? if so to tell them to send me the black one instead of the silver one..

thanks for your help in advance.

It may make a slight difference, but if you're that concerned, you should call Tai and ask him if there's anyway to change your order to a black powder-coated intake.

I posted it because I can.

A lot of people who are interested in buying this intake will read this thread regardless of what the topic is. Why not give fellow members the best priced place to buy this intake? And hell, this guy might be able to contact the seller he purchased his intake from and get a refund or 'price match' to make up for the price difference.

I stated on the notes part of the order form about the black intake. But Im sure he would be cool about changing it up for you. Your not going to see much of the piping (in SI) since it makes a 90 degree turn down from the intake manifold. No performance differences and if there is, 1 hp wont really matter.

Well at any rate, I don't seen the Injen CAI there. They have the AEM, and it is $247. No signs of Injen for an 06 Civic Si. How dare you feed us false information you threadjacker

I also ordered my Injen CAI from Corsports yesterday. Can't wait to install it. Hope it comes by Wed. or else I'll have to wait until Sat. to do it.

I know paint (engine paint) can increase operating temps due to not letting the heat escape as quick, I was thinking the same with powdercoating, since in essence you're adding a layer of non-breathable material.

you're adding a layer of non-breathable material to something that's non-breathable I don't think the color will make any difference in terms of what little power these things add anyway.

Yes but metal will dispearse heat quite well. If you have a coating on it, it will stay hot longer as well as run hotter. The purpose of a CAI is for cold air not warmer air. Like I said, I'm not sure if this pertains to powdercoating and for the 5-9 hp a CAI adds, I'm sure your loss will be minimal
