Fujita Intake

Does anyone have installed Fujita short ram? I just installed mine today - and so far, very unpleased with it. I think my car is actually slower! And A LOT louder.

Comments?

Have you checked over your installation?

1) Bolted down correctly
2) Tightened correctly to the throttle body and free of any air leaks
3) Air filter is on tight
4) Disconnecting the negative terminal on your battery for 15 minutes (resets ECU), fire it back up and let it idle for 15 minutes

Any specific symptoms of the power loss - heisitation or lag?

Yeah.. everything is tight. Power was disconnected for over an hour. I took the battery out for install for the room.

Car idled for longer then 15 mins only cause when I went for a test drive, I left my DL in the house.

Car seems to lag until about 6500 RPM - then its about the same power ( so I think) and loud as sh*t! To me, a short ram just made the car louder then actually help with the performance.

I own a 07 civic si and installed a fujita sri last week. It seems to be slower and when it reaches upper end speed around 70 and when I put it in 6th gear it doesn't seem to react to my gas pedal. It seemingly goes up very very slow. I agree Louder but doesn't seem to have any more speed than the stock...Installed it and reset the intake let the car idle for a bit, but the same result, can someone tell me why, can it be that the engine becoming hot could effect my performance of the sri.

on a short ram dont expect not to loose low end torque. just the way it is.
you should get more high end power though, if that thing was designed
correctly.

intakes on a NA motor is mostly for noise. you get better milage on some
cars that are programmed rich (like on my G35C).

do u have a si?

i have a 02 ex, i kno the d17 is alot different than the k20 but its very similar to the r18. God damn when i took that sri off (after it broke) my car felt boosted untill i got used to it again haha... it made me lose soo much down low and the only thing it did top end wise was made my top speed +3... lol im driving in the 40's and 50's alot more than the 100+'s

i have a fujita SRI and i LOVE it.. yea its loud and you will lose low end power but thats a trade off i'll take when power in our cars are in the high RPMs.. Fujita SRI screams in VTEC and if you've never had a SRI in a car before, just give it time. you'll learn to like it.. i especially love the sound while it sucks in the air... hmm i wanna go drive.. if you want more low end power go get a new exhaust that'll help too

actually you'll loose more low end torque when you run most aftermarket
exhausts. there's very little backpressure on aftermarket exhausts.

hmm there are alot of variables involved to be able to make a general statement like that.

To the OP if you bought a SRI expecting to "feel" much faster after the install.....you simply bought the wrong part. It is a decent mod that should enhance your upper powerband. I honestly have no idea why yours seems slower all the time. You do lose something anytime you install a SRI or CAI on a car. That is throttle response, and maybe only for a sec or so but it certainly decreases. I have owed 5 cars, and all of which had aftermarket intakes on them both CAI and SRI. My above statement holds true to all of them.

Perhaps it is the slight reduction in throttle response you feel?

Why is louder always a problem with everybody?

Sorry to hear that man. Go with x's intake if you're not happy with it.

It's more of a sound modification than anything. I do agree that "X's" short ram is a better solution. The metal material of the tubing will make the intake perform really poorly in hot weather, especially when it's bumper to bumper traffic.
