Kneel before Zod!

Okay, I decided it was time to Dyno the car. The only engine mods I have are an Injen CAI and the GReddy EVO II Catback. This is the last NA reading my car is getting so this is the baseline for the turbo build.
I would like to thank the guys at Millenium AutoSports in Norfolk for kicking the turbo MR-S off the dyno so the Meanie could go. Please excuse my talking in the begining or the end of some videos. I would edit it but, frankly, I don't know how. New camera. New software. I'm still trying to learn it. ![]() Run 1 Run 2 I paid special attention to the intake noise on here for folks interested in what the Injen CAI sounds like through out the RPM range. Run 3 Here I paid special attention to the exhaust for those of you who want to hear the EVO II through out the RPM range.

I was a little disappointed at the readings.
Their readout didn't give air temp, humidity, or barometric pressure. All I can say is that it was about 75F out when I arrived at the shop and it was humid as hell. ![]() Run 1 max power- 181.08 Run 2 max power- 183.12 max torque 134.17 Run 3 max power- 184.06 I only have one torque reading because for some reason they couldn't get a good one. My read out shows my torque being all over the place. Oh well. That's it. Hopefully the next time I have a dyno posted my hp will be somewhere close too or approaching 300. ![]()

I bet anything if atruhondagrl go to the dyno of those that claim that have almost 200whp in a stock SI his car will read more than that. In the dyno that I made my baseline in the first run my car throws like 120whp. When the technician see that he quickly adjust something in an air compressor, he says that he forgot to decrease the air pressure (PSI) that goes into the rollers and for that reason the result of the first run was very low. I also notice that the rollers were very stiff, everytime that I shift the gears of the trans the speed of the rollers decreaces very quicky. After he changes the pressure of the line that goes into the rollers then the car throws a respectable whp reading. Maybe that is the main reason of why many people are having different reading in the same type of dyno. PD. I know that there are different types of dynos that shows different numbers but I mean dynos of the same type. ![]() |

you're right about keeping to the same dyno, Shark Tek. This shop is going to be where my car lives most of next year as they will be doing all the work while I'm deployed.
Every Dyno I'll have from here out will be there so at least it'll be consistent. :)

Humidy can't have TOO MUCH to do with it. I live in Houston where humidty is absolutely nuts. When I got my car dyno'd, air temperature was 101 degrees on the dyno and i dont remember humidty, but i put down 189.40whp with just an AEM CAI. That was on a dynojet and the guy stopped at 7800RPM. I shoulda told him to go to the rev limiter, but i respect him being gentle on her. I bet if I went to a mustang dyno, it would have read lower.

atruhondagrl, Dont worry take it to a track and you will see that you can cross the 1/4 with over 90 mph. A Well Calibrated Dynometer always shows a 18% less than a flywheel reading. For me your car has a correct reading. Try to race one of those that says that are throwing almost 200 in a stock SI you will be amaze on the result. Maybe some of you remember this thread. Stock SI vs SI with Injen CAI + IMG (mine) For all of you people that are using Injen CAI, make sure to add some type of insulator between the CAI rubber elbow and the upper radiator hose. I race the guy one more time and the three races I win. The problem that I had was that the elbow was getting VERY hot and when I was racing when I shift into 4th gear the car begin to soak a lot of heat and the stock SI in my side began to pull me very quickly. Now that is something of the past. atruhondagrl, try to add an insulator in there and do another dyno run Im sure that you will have a couple more of ponnies. |
