Just installed my AEM CAI on my EX Coupe
Finally, after waiting all week to have my homeboy help me install my AEM CAI, it is finally in! Install took roughly 2.5-3 hours because we got confused with some of the instructions and were having trouble with the piping. Stock airbox came off without a hitch; most trouble was the metal battery tray cuz we tried to install it with it on.
Best part: NO CEL. I just started it up and everything was fine. I'll keep everyone posted within the next few days if it happens to pop up. I love the sound of it; it's got a nice tone to it. I'll take pics/vids tomorrow since it's kinda late and I have a 7:30am class. Next mod: Magnaflow Cat-Back coming sometime this week. Thanks to forum member rippars for giving me a great deal on the CAI. |

Pics now, vids later
Hey guys. Sorry about the quality of the pics; my sister's camera is being kinda whack and I didn't have a chance to borrow my gf's SLR (even though it's just pics of the engine bay). I recorded some vids, but the quality is too high so it takes forever to load on YouTube. I will try again tomorrow. Sorry for the lack of updates.
Still no CEL. WHOO! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Part 1 (rev) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEbKcdldMUU Part 2 (drive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwZuwcUn4GA *Update* I just got my CEL this morning. Doh. Going to disconnect the battery and let it idle for the 10-15 minutes. I didn't do this the first time cuz I was at my friend's house and needed to get home because I had class in the morning (it was getting late). Magnaflow Exhaust is being delivered today; I will post pics/vids as soon as I get it installed. |

the intake sounds great. the Si isnt slow, and in my opinion, neither are the other civics. great pick-up for what they have under the hood.
that engine looks soo user friendly. unforunately my Si looks like hell to work through, so im still unsure if i want a CAI. |

Reset the ECU, CEL turned off. Let it idle for about 20 minutes, then put in the radio code. Turned off the car, turned it back on. CEL is on again. Hmmm...
In other news, exhaust came in today. Waiting for my friend to be less busy so we can install it. Might have him look at the intake again since he did more of the install than me (still learning o_O). Vids/Pics to come...in maybe a new thread |

The exhaust will take about 30-40 minutes to install. It's a lot easier than installing the Cai.
Sorry about the Cell. I guess it's an ongoing problem with the some of the AEM Cai's Perhaps putting the Exhaust on might solve your problem and it will give you a more balanced set up. I don't know but it can't hurt to try. Shoot us some pics of the Magnaflow. I am thinking of going that route as well. BTW the pics you posted are pretty nice! Great Looking intake! |

HA! I found the problem! CAI was loose on the connection to the throttle body. Secured attachment, reset the car again and voila! Made multiple startups to be sure.
