USDM vs JDM Header...
Hi guys...
i'm in the market for a RH. i live in socal where i heard we need cat or we can get ticket. as you guys now, all aftermarket 4-2-1 header for USDM car will remove the cat. (Header - cat back exhaust) however, for FD2 CTR, you can install an aftermarket header without removing the cat. (Header - cat - cat back exhaust) here is the pics of the mugen rr set up. ![]() my questions are, is it possible to install JDM 4-2-1 header + JDM cat + USDM exhaust in our car? would it be legal if i use JDM cat? how nice to have the performance and stay legal... ![]() i really appreciate your comments guys... thanks...

well... the toda header and exhaust(built for the jdm ctr) are being sold as a kit for the fa5, due to the fact that the header is a different length than our stock one with the cat, and the only thing different would be the hangers on the exhaust....
so id think jdm header, jdm cat, and jdm exhaust would work with new hangers welded on the exhaust?.. |

Evan is absolutely correct. The jdm fd2R has a cat of a diffrent length than our fa5. So even if you were able to source an full jdm exhaust system it wouldn't work unless you fab up some all new hangers from front to back under the car. Depending on you it my not be worth the expense.
