new exhaust questinon.

I just had a new catback installed. I was wondering as for the break in period and the weird smell. If that lasts about a week right? And does it matter if the silencer is install or not during that period?

for me the smell lasted about 3 days, silencer was in for first day for an easier break in, took it out and break in was done about 2-3 days later. but it doesnt matter if you have silencer in or not, basically it was just for me to get used to the exhaust note as this is my first aftermarket exhaust.

Just check what the noise ordinance laws are there. They should have a website for it.

There is a big difference in sound without the silencer.

"Knock on wood"

I have a BCRH mated to a S2 70mm & its safe to say that its loud. I haven't had a problem yet. You just have to be smart when you let it rip.

It's kind of up to the local fuzz on how you're going to be regarded with your exhaust. Granted there are local sound odrinances but it is the officers who enforce them.
