What size piping?

I'm looking into what exhaust I should get and can't really decide. I have always been one to enjoy a loud exhaust so noise isn't an issue. The problem is, I want 70mm piping and no one makes a system that has a muffler that I like with 70mm piping. I know the Skunk2 Mega Power R has 70mm piping but I hate the look of the muffler with the slant cut tip. I would rather have the Apexi N1 muffler with it. Does anyone have the Apexi N1 catback? How is it? I'm also planning to add a Vibrant Race header w/ cat delete. Any advice?

Get the vibrant exhaust to go with your race header. Sounds, performs, and looks great. You can't go wrong.

Bigger than 2.5"? Well, all you could get is skunk2, t1r, and ajp.

It's good w/ a turbo. It's kinda pricey, but what exhaust isn't? You can get it with either the buddy club muffler or the hks one if you want a different sound. Just go to ajp's website and check it out. If you're n/a, I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.75", however I would just go w/ 2.5".

I had the 70mm before and I can't say that there's a difference that I can feel between that one and the vibrant. There is a huge difference in sound though. I would get the 70mm again though if I was to have my si just for a project car.

too bad there is no other company that builds custom exhaust systems like turbo mafia. that seemed like the best way to get exactly what you want

Vibrant is working on a 70mm system that will be competitive with the Skunk2. For me, if one is going N/A, I would rather have the 2.5". I think that is perfect with a RH and intake.

If one were to boost the motor, then a 70mm would make better sense. From reading many of the threads about turbos for the Si, a smaller exhaust pipe diameter seems to hamper performance. Most have gone to the Skunk2 70mm to get greater gains.

Personally, I would try and stay with the same system. If you buy Skunk2, I would wait for their header. If you buy a Vibrant RH, then I would go with the forthcoming Vibrant 70mm cat-back.

More details on the new vibrant please. I'll be one of the first to get it if it continues to look like the one I have now.

Well, it seems like Donovan has been hinting at a larger diameter cat-back, no doubt to meet the challenge of Skunk2. Vibrant listens to their customers and it would seem they have seen the incredible demand for 70mm systems.

Anything else is considered classified.
