Race Header collector sizes??

I was wondering what the collector size on all race headers' for our cars, ie: buddy club, dc, ssr, strup....etc.

I thought they would be at least 2.5"

Need to search. I would post the links but the edge network on my phone blows.

From my recollection:

DCRH = 1.9"-2.0"
BCRH = 2.25"
Vibrant = 2.5"

All measurements are claimed inner diameter.

I searched but nothing came up or if I searched all post there were million threads of nothing...wow, I thought all them would be 2.5". And people are still making power on smaller sizes.

But to add to this, I called Strup and they said theirs is 2".

Strup 2" collector and flange
BCRH 2" collector then a 2.5" flange
DCRH 2" collector and flange
Vibrant 2.5" collector and flange

Excellent info. I added this info the Mother of all race header questions thread.

BTW, I am elated at the specs on the Vibrant. Size matters!

Would you, or anyone, happen to know the other RH size? I'm guessing they are going to be 2.5" for the price they are.

A cursory look at the Hytech and SSR would seem to indicate a 2.5 collector and outlet flange diameter.

I have a DCRH in my garage. I got only 1.875" when I measured.

No, that is not necessarily the truth. Sometimes back pressure can make more power. Every setup is going to vary a bit, different intakes, different exhausts, different mods, etc.

My DCRH was measured at 1.9" (eye balling w/ a ruler). If what NitrousG35 says is true, the Vibrant RH may be the only true 2.5" (reasonably priced) header. :P

Question: when i had a bcrh (2.0) with stock exhaust, i was making good power. if i use a vibrant rh (2.5), would it require a better exhaust than the stock one since the collector size is bigger?

It wouldn't hurt. I know several people who have run the stock exhaust w/the Vibrant header and have been rather disappointed by the performance.

This is very interesting info. I just assumed that all aftermarket headers were at least 2.5".

yea, it sucks to buy a header for couple $$$ and being disappointed afterward.
i wonder how the ssr or hytech header will perform with a stock exhaust.

You could upgrade the exhaust w/ what you have now since the flange is the same size on both anyways. Same bottleneck on both headers.
