I haven't read of anyone on the forum actually buying one and trying it out. From the looks of it, it is basically a SRI with a cf inlet that probably would give some isolation from heat.

^ I think he did. In one of his pictures, he had Fujita stickers, so I thought that is what he is using. I just checked Caliguys's DIY and he said that X used an Apexi. Thanks for the update!

Great MOTHER thread again!

Did you forget this one? Poor man's Mugen Air box/Comptech Ice box

a bit similar to the Homemade icebox...

I am heading for this set-up... I just don't like the idea of removing the veins for the MAF sensor

Thanks bro for the kind words. I hope this will help others out in making a decision about which intake might be best for them.

So would there be any problems with getting the AEM dryflow replacement filter and using it on a system that usually uses an oiled filter?

I know its not REALLY an intake in and of itself, but a bunch of people use the drop in K&N replacement filter. Might make a (good) addition.

nice write up bill!...im still debating on what i should get..i really want the...gruppe m cowl induction one...so badd as but 1200 seems way to steep for an intake..i wanted to get x-intake..but..since things are going to well in that category idk what to do now..thinking about the T1R set up...Do you think there will be gains or if it would work if i kept the stock air box and just put in the T1R scoop and took out the old stock tubings and resonator? thanks!

Absolutely. I put on my M&M scoop before I did my custom air box and before my cowl induction. The gains were immediately noticeable, at least on the butt dyno. The car seemed to pull harder at speed.

It looks like the Gruppe M kinda squeezes up against the Computer. I wonder if that would make it too difficult to plug a management system into it, with or without the plug and play harness.
