in the end i would rather have something go worng on an older modded car rather my first brand new car. i remember back in high school in the bay area my friends and i would always be in the local pick n pulls every weekend, there arent that many here if any in nova. might need to stop by the local auto parts store on the way home from work tomorrow...

well we had olders car to start with and my friends were getting into drifting so it was easier to get parts for older cars dirt cheap. hence why i would want a old car to mod.

I must be out of it, but I still am not sure what you meant by "pick and pulls"

basically older cars are laid out, and you walk around to see if you need any of the used parts pull it out and then pay for it. once a car has been completely stripped or i think every 30 days or so they remove a car and in comes a new car ready for picking... great for drifters that need used tires usually go for a buck a tire.

Ive got a great project you could do (wish I could do). Buy a 1990 mazda rx7 and throw in an LS1 v8 into it. The car itself weighs 2800lbs add in a motor that it lighter then the stock rx7 motor and you have yourself a monster drag car and track car (one of the best handling cars of the 90s). Its a really awesome project and I hear they run low 12's right after the swap look into it.

So theres like places (buisnesses) that do this? ounds pretty cool...like going to pick-your part, but less ghetto...not to get off the subjest, but this just made me think of the time I went to a pick your part in LA and they were blasting Mexican music on the pa system...there were chickens and cows in this cage thing in the middle of the yard, but best of all there were these mexican guys partying in a busted van in the yard...drinkin tecates...OMG it was classic BTW this was not meant to knock Mexicans by any means

pick and pulls are the way to go if you on a tight budget... i remember my friend got a newer passenger seat for his 240 for about 30 - 40 bucks. well there wasnt any music blasting in the place itself but there was some noise always being made in the parking alot or the car audio place next door. alot of riced out 90 - 97 accords always rolled out of that place...

The deler tells the judge the cai caused it...your evidence proves otherwise...you win...all is good.

FYI in small claims neither party can be represented by an atty at the hearing (makes small claims very cheap and easy and here in Cali you can sue for up to 7.5k...
Good post CaliGuy...I have an SRI scheduled to be delivered on Monday.

+1

If you want a CAI and are worried about hydrolock....stay away from puddles over a foot deep.

If you want peace of mind from hydro lock and want to be able to install the stock airbox quickly for warranty work, buy a SRI.

not unless you blew up your suspension or dragged your oil pan through a pothole. if that's the case, don't expect the dealer to replace your OEM shocks. they can't void an entire warranty for one part like an intake, an exhaust, or your suspension. but they can fight you if your problem could be related to your mod. read the thread. and read the 19 references to the Magnussen Moss Act in this thread.
