Mine just came in today. I also got the Vibrant Catback too. Exciting.
How difficult was the install? I'm worried about doing it myself. I've got all the tools I need and a lift, but I'm a bodyman and have never really done any motor/exhaust work and didn't want to mess anything up.

The disassembly was a PITA, but I had no problems taking out the OEM header. Putting on the new header was a piece of cake. I did it with my son at home in my garage. Follow the DIY, remove both brackets on the left , the one on the right of the header and the black shield. You do not have to remove the parts(base of the windshield) in the first step of the DIY. Remove the heatshield bolts from the top. All other bolts from below....have fun!

Thanks a lot, I'm glad that your install went smoothly. -- Two more quick ones though:

Is there a gasket or anything between the manifold for the header and the back of the motor? (Didn't know if maybe this was a time to replace something like that if there was one)

And

Have you thrown a CEL with your HFC yet?

OP, looks good. Nice install. The Vibrant header is a work of art. When I got mine, I would just sit and hold it and stare at it. Almost a shame to install it. Too bad you can't see it when it is installed.

i know ill love it, lol... im holding off on doing a resonator until i have a chance to drive it an decide for myself if its too loud or not.

im waiting on mike (soxfan143) to get back to me on times for when i can meet up w/ him and do the install.

best mod to date, eh? hmmm ... it would be if it can beat out my retrofit... but that will be reeaaalllyyy tough.

If you can get a Soxfan143 MAF housing, you will really notice a difference. His housing really woke up my motor. Mike designed the housing to work with a race header and cat-back.

As for the exhaust, I am pretty sure that you will find that it will be loud, too loud IMO. I have the 18" resonator and it is still really loud in VTEC. SCTuned had a video of a Vibrant RH w/hfc and cat-back. Man, that thing would blow your eardrums out. That is why I went with the resonator.

The gasket appears to be stainless steel, you should not have to replace it. The car is still on stands. The vibrant exhaust arrives tomorrow. I paid $76 for the ultra quiet resonator. The bottle resonator is a little cheaper.

just installed my vibe w/hfc too.I didnt get a defouler and so far no CEL.Pulls hard as F*$^%!.But there is a problem. When I start my car there is a clanking nois a bit right under my shifter. And when i drive, from first to second gear I can feel .......its almost like the part of the header where it merges is moving to left or right hitting the walls a bit.Sorry for the bad explanation. But yeah I got a skunk2 70mm and it is so loud!.My fujita sri sounds way more aggressive and she purrs nicer too.Over all prolly my best mod.Do you guys think the ECU will learn and later on be faster?
