No, I pay out my insurance in a lump sum to avoid a monthly surcharge from good ol ICBC.

Go to a Honda dealership and talk to their insurance person. They'll give you a quote on the spot.

i think if you're guna compare a non-si sedan with something else in about the same category (maybe the mazda3), it'll be roughly the same i believe.
the coupe however will cost a bit more as its 2door, making it a "sports car". damn rx8's have it good
i was debating between a civic and a mazda3 too, but in the end i went for higher resale value, honda reliability, better warranty, better drivability, and jus cuz the civic is simply sexier

It's interesting but when I compared a Civic Sedan to a Coupe at an autoplan they told me it's the number of doors that count (hence number of passengers you're more likely to carry). i.e. Sedan costs more :|

Wow. canada is expensive for insurance.

I live in the biggest county/city in the state and only pay 142 for my SI, comp only on a parked '93 civic dx, and renters insurance.

And sedans cost less down here because they are considered family cars, while coupes are considered sporty.

That's what you get when the government monopolizes the insurance industry.

ICBC = Insurance Corporation of British Columbia... run by the Province of BC. They have had record profits every year since they opened up shop. I'd say 99% of BC motorists use ICBC for their auto insurance. Guess what happens when ICBC rules 50/50 liability? Yup, they stuff their pockets with $$$ from BOTH parties involved in the claim
