Unhappy Front left suspension squeaking

PLEASE HELP GUYS!!! Searched google and 8th civic but didn't get any solid results or suggestions on this. So here's my question...

My friend's 06 civic dx coupe's front left suspension is squeaking almost whenever it goes over bumps or rough surfaces. The noise started couple weeks ago, but the noise has been becoming more and more obvious. Not sure if that's because the weather is getting colder or the problem is getting more severe as time goes on.

Some fellows on 8th civic have their struts/shocks replaced but still have the squeaking noise...The unfortunate part is "shocks, struts and dampers" is under warranty for only 3 years and has already expired for an 06 civic... So reluctant to get stealership to do inspection for $100+ and likely not solving the problem...

Please throw out some ideas...

THANKS!!!

sounds like it needs some greasing or something may be bent and its making contact with the rotors...but again, it could be another problem, best bet is to bring it the dealership and have them check it out...

Where about at the suspension should I apply the grease? What type of grease would do the job?

Thanks!

Which coilover do you have? The crazy thing about it is that my friend's car is 100% stock...

Which Honda dealer is good and would you recommend? I see that you in live greater vancouver too. I'm afraid they'll charge $100+ just for inspection, without finding the root cause.

Did you buy the car off honda?? if so, you should try bringing it back since its under warranty.. and you are running on stocks right? no mods?? if its under warranty you should be fine and you can ask them if they will charge you for inspection but most likely not

My friend has Honda plus which has not expired, but warranty of struts, shocks, are only 3 years, which is a history. So not sure if that's sill under warranty, or they ll charge the inspection fee depending on the said component warranty period....any clue?

I am surprised that newer Honda don't seem to be as reliable as the earlier models

there's a reason why ppl call it the stealership. even if they don't find anything wrong, they'll make up some bs and charge you for that. and they usually charge you an arm and a leg.

Agreed. They arent in business to lose money.

I'd give a dealer a call and ask how much it will be and be nice about it and they might do something for you. Better yet call the dealer you bought the car from they might be more willing to do an inspection for a lower cost/free.

if you're in richmond, go to minit-tune across from aberdeen. the owner there has always been very nice and explains fully what the problems are and even shows you. there's also a mini window where u can keep an eye on everything they're doing on your car. unless you wanna watch from outside where it's -5 and below these days.
ask for jackson

So I bought a silicone grease and sprayed the bushing at the front sway bar and the bushing somewhere near the CV boot (not sure what it's called) and it didn't help. I didn't loosen up the screws to spray the interior of the bushing, only sprayed from the outside with everything mounted, and hope that the grease would leak into the interior.

Still got the noise, when temperature gets colder, the squeaking noise is more obvious. Help help!

By the way, called the Honda stealership and they'll charge $120+ just to do inspection...

Mine does that too. I brought it to Richmond Honda and they didn't find out why it does that. One of senior techs drove my car with me and he heard the sound. Well at least they replaced both rear shocks under warranty as they were leaking.
