No, the hood will still pop and you need to raise it. But it will support the hood once you lift it, no messin around with the prop rod ect.

you only need to raise it about 15 deg and it will take over and open all the way to about 80 deg (stock is about 70 deg with the uglistix)

Its designed that way so that it closes securely
assist it down to about 15 deg and drop it shut (there is no actuation within the first 10-15 deg)
