Actually the video is not fake. The regional manager of Scion contacted me and asked me to be a feature owner (one of 3) to do a short documentary to show at events. Scion hired a film company to shoot the footage. And I take it as a compiment on the fact that u suggested that a BOOSTED Si should race me. The first two videos of me racing Si's in my xD, I was not targeting the Si, in fact that day 1/3 of the cars at the track were Civic Si's. The must have been a planned meet there. It so happened that I ended up running against two of them, which I video taped. I found it intriguing that I was able to beat them. In no way is the Scion xD faster than the new generation Si, but (and u will see me say this a few times) the car is only as good as the person behind the wheel. The last generation Si, that was a legit win, I flat out outpowered that one.
Posting those two videos of my xD, I did it to enlighten people... most people read the title of a race video and already know the outcome before they even watch it, That was the twist I wanted to go for. As far as the discriptions I wrote, ( about price tags and such) I was having fun. If that put some people's panties in a bunch then I appoligize, but it was meant to be FUNNY. I wasnt being cocky.
I posted the 3rd video (my xA) vs. the Si just because of the flack that I got from the other 2, it's that simple. Many people couldnt fathem the fact of a cheap Scion being faster than a well engineered, sports-purpose built front wheel drive car. Do I have a beef with Si owners, ... I think the car is awsome, but I also visit other forums which are non vehicle specific and it seems as though Honda owners ( not all) are out to get Scions. They call them "slow" or "girl-cars", things like that. Some guy posts a story about how a Scion cut him off on the way home, then it just turned into a Scion-hating thread.
From that point I learned that many many people who talk trash on the internet and forums, they never go to the track, they just bash and run. I don't like the internet in the way that it hides how a person really is. So what do I do, I stick to racing in real life. I do Time attacks, auto-x's and every once and a while the dragstrip to test my car. I bring real-life results to the internet, instead of talking trash on the net and nothing comes of it. I like all cars.
My xa, it's one of the lowest hp front wheel drive production cars out there, quite simply i get a "kick" out of competing against cars that are far superior. I like being the under-dog, like when sombody watches a fight movie or race movie, u always have a thing for the underdog.
There are many people out there who buy a car and automatically think they are fast because of what they drive... that is entirely not the case. The type of car you drive only gives you the potential to go faster. This is more evident on road coarses and auto-x's. You can not look at a car an know how fast it is, the end results tell the story. On a road coarse, you can not rely on the fact that your car can run a 14.3 in the 1/4 and the car you are competing to pass runs 15.5, all that goes down the tube in the first turn you enter. On road coarses I have passed Evos, 350z's( even boosted ones) S2000's, STI's, BMW's... now I know each one of those cars had the capability to be faster than me, but the drivers of those cars did not maximize the potential of those vehicles. In a nutshell, just because sombody drives a certain type of car, it doesnt mean they are faster than you. And that is my whole point.
I guess what bugs me is that I see all these great cars, and I see many people on the net saying how fast there car is, but when it comes to the big events, where are they? The was only one Si at the last time attack I did, that car has so much potential to do well in FWD street it confuses me that more people don't race.
Here is an in-car of a practice session at the last time attack. I am in FWD street, the 350z is in FWD modified ( R-compound tires) and the s2000 is rear wheel drive street. at that particular even I placed 3rd in FWD street.

This is the dumbest thread ever. So someone finally answer the question, was he BOOSTED OR NOT?! Obviously he was and probably at a hi cfm/psi because the basic specs of the car (drivers equal) would not permit it to come close to the Si PERIOD.

So once again, we are talking apples and oranges - boost vs NA. Equal drivers should be a close race but let's go NA and see what happens.

There you go, end of discussion. Like I said, equal drivers = close race. NA and Scion gets eaten up.

Let's do an experiment and put the same boost in an Si and see what happens. Now were talking about running with M3's, completely different category. In fact I remember seeing a vid of a GREDDY boosted Si hanging with an M3.

Bottom line though is the Scion won....

this is why i dont race, dont pretend to race, and dont say mar cars faster than anyone's...unless im just meesing with my friends or something. i love honda and will always own a honda because i like everything about them. if you think about it tho, they ar still pushing the itr technology from over 10 years ago. the itr was a beast when it came out. but now we have all those pocket rockets like the speed 3, srt-4, gti, cobalt ss(turbo), and the kings of the sport compact the evo and sti. with that said, the si is the worst out of all of those in performace. i dont think my car is fast at all. ive driven a 70 cuda and that car had more tourque than hp...thats just scary. ive also driven the new mazda speed 3...(wish i got one but i might not be here to tak about it) and absolutly was addicted to the power. but heres where my love for honda comes in...i know my car will last longer than any fi car. it just will. i also know the resale value on our cars is amazing. its just no surprise that a lighter car with equil power and more tourgue won. i mean the bad launch on the si was insulting. but it is what it is. the si woulda lost anyway. is the si fast? no. can it be fast? ofcorse. turbo si would be great...but as you can see with all the forementioned cars...i have the only one that isnt a turbo and thats because i want my car 10 years from now. but if i were taking a car to the track, theres a good chance it wouldnt even be a honda. dont know what it would be, but the si wouldnt be my choice. with all that said, is it a great car? yes and i love it. as far as a road car goes(price, resale, safety, performance, comfort, technology, gas milage, and reliability) i think its the best car(for me) out there and i wouldnt trade it(or race it) for anything.

Hey bud, thanks for signing up. I think that might have been one of the greatest first posts in the history of this forum. Please ignore the people that just can't get over themselves long enough to respect another make/model. I'm sure that you have them over @ scionlife and we have them here, but more importantly we have a lot of true enthusiasts that respect what you've done.

Anyways, it's always great to have another enthusiast as a member and I hope that you'll consider sticking around. You'll find that there are actually quite a few non 8th gen owning members here, myself being one of them.
