First SCCA was today, not bad...
In case you don't want to read the story, what tire psi are people using on SCCA? I was pretty loose at 35 front/ factory rear. Of course, by the end of a hot day it was 40/ factory.
I ran my stock Si in my first SCCA today. My best time was a 42.9, which was my goal after watching the last race. I ran STS Novice, some guy in a Focus with at least intake if not exhaust beat me by a little less than half a second. It was a good show, in all classes I say I placed top 50%. There were some nice rides including my friend's Elise and three open wheeled entries. The Elise broke 40 and it was his first time too. I figure once I get good (I spent a lot of time sideways) I'll make some hot times.Much different than street races, and more adreneline. As soon as the one car would close his hood and helmet up my adreneline would kick in, and after I was done I had the shakes each time. Sweet! If you haven't done it, do it. ![]() |

rphinson,
Don't forget, every autocross features a different course arrangement. Next time you race there, it'll be different. That's what keeps you (and the sport) fresh as a driver and that's what allows skills to be increased... You are forced to learn and focus on a new course each time; thus, you are forced to rely on what you have learned so that you can learn something else that you may not have needed to know before!
