wheels and tires?
i am setting up my SI for Auto-X but what to know if these wheels and tires are acceptable.
i was thinking about getting the Mugen GP wheels, as my friend has them and will give me a good deal on them. the tires i want are either the Falken Azenis Rt615 or the Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 let me know if anyone has these or what you recommend. thanks all in advance. |

depends what class you are in, and how serious you are. I wasnt able to find any wheel lighter/cheaper than the k1-ts in the stock size with re01r's, but if you are going to be in stx, you obviously have some more choices, just limited by tire size (245 if im not mistaken). If you are serious about G stock competition, you'll have to go with slicks, something i know very little about. :)

In that case just find the lightest wheels you can- im partial to the k1 ts, though my roomate picked up some used SSR comps and they look sharp, and are significantly lighter- I believe he has 17x8's that weigh ~10.5lbs- cant beat that unless you go with some crazy mag wheels or something. Just get something light, I don't know how much the mugens weigh, though I recall them being a bit on the porky side for the cost. If you are going to drop that much coin anyway on wheels, i've heard great things about the new direzza d1(?), supposedly 99% as good as the re01r in the dry, and much better when its wet. I believe they are cheaper as well. That said, I <3 my re01r's, though i think they are a bit pricey.
