Finally took my stock FA5 to the track

So it finally didnt rain on friday and i was able to go to the track. The conditions werent the best, it was very humid and it was like 70 degrees out. I dont have a scanner so i can show you actual time slips but i will write out the slips for my stock FA5. (well took the spare tire out)

1st run:
R/T... .056
60'... 2.388
330... 6.609
1/8... 9.984
MPH... 73.54
1000... 12.865
1/4... 15.303
MPH... 92.15

2nd run:
R/T... .178
60'... 2.399
330... 6.429
1/8... 9.736
MPH... 74.76
1000... 12.561
1/4... 14.977
MPH... 93.44

3rd run:
R/T... .168
60'... 2.318
330... 6.370
1/8... 9.669
MPH... 74.86
1000... 12.485
1/4... 14.893
MPH... 93.76

Overall i was very satisfied with my times. This car is tricky to launch without a slight bog. Next i am planning on getting a DCRH and TBS, IMG. hopefully i will get them soon and i will post my times.

yeah i was hopin to get in the 14.7's. the temperature didnt get lower than 70 that night. i need a nice like 55-60 degree night. i also just need to learn how to launch better, this is by far the trickiest car i have tried to launch. what were your 60' times when you ran the 14.7?

i was launchin around 5000 rpm and feathering the clutch. i just seemed that when the car caught traction the rpms would dip down to the 4500 range. so not really bog but just go way below the ideal rpm. i used to have an integra gsr and when i launched that car it would just spin alot but when it grabbed i was at least in vtec.

you cant rev that high, let it spin cause then when it finally does grab after spinning, you will be in vtec cause its spinning longer and wont bog when it grips and your at low rpms. thats what ive learned from my car. the harder you launch and the quicker you get traction, the lower rpm's you start at, and it just slow before vtec. make sense?

no acutally that makes no sense, your tryin t say launch harder cuase when you catch traction youll already be in vtec?? but the thing is if you launch hard chances are your gonna spin through 1st and fall right out of the powerband in second. When i went the the track i launch a 4000rpm slipping the clutch on the stock all season. I spun a minimal amount and was in vtec. You dont launch HARD you find that right range that works for your style and the track you are on. Each track is going to be differnt as far as how the prep the track so its a matter of learning that track.
