its hilarious how you all mocked the cavalier, and yet the ls sport is only 1 second slower than the si..
is there a difference between ls and ls sport? if so, does the sport package add anything to make it perform better? i would like to know the base cavaliers 0-60, but im guessing that will be hard to find..

im asking questions about a cavalier because i know 2 people who have 2004 cavaliers, and ill just leave it at that instead of going into a long story.. i remember driving my sisters cavalier and thinking wtf the 0-60 on this must be about 10, and i think she has an ls, but im not sure..

i wish there was a massive database with 0-60 times of every make/model/year/trim (im aware there are some sites that have lists of 0-60 times, but they are usually not organized well, dont list enuf information, and only have a few hundred different cars spanning 40 years)

hey, i just realized something.. just like most cars, the "sport" package doesnt add much; upgraded suspension, spoiler, body kit, and maybe exhaust, but its usually not a big deal.. so im wondering, how can an ls sport hit 60 in 8.0, and the base cavalier in 9+ (most of us agree its somewhere above 9 right?), yet the ls sport doesnt add anything to make the car go faster, i dont think..

neither can i after driving my sisters cavalier, BUT the 2004 cavalier ls sport is supposedly 8.0, so how could a car that doesnt have an upgraded engine or anything be like 2 seconds faster? i didnt know adding a spoiler, body kit, and suspension took 1+ second off the 0-60.. if somebody knows of something the cavalier ls sport has that would make it faster than the base, id like to hear it, otherwise 1 of 2 things is true.. 1. the 8.0 seconds is bullshit 2. the base cavalier is about 9.0, which still wouldnt explain why its a second slower even tho it has the same engine and gearing

let me guess, you are one of those people that think sub 7 0-60s is common?

I would say "most" times for people are not sub 7's.

There is no way a 2004 cavalier runs 0-60 mph in 8 flat. My sister has that exact car and it is an absolute dog. My old echo hatchback was quicker.

I'd estimate the 0-60 mph around the 9.5-10 second range. There is nothing "performance" about that car.

Have you tried Ebay or Pepboys?

Ummm, Cavalier in 8 secs? The non-supercharged Cobalt SS's with 171 bhp can barely just do 7.7ish 0-60 time. I don't think a 140 hp car can do an 8 sec 0-60 time. Try again.. this time.. aim for the.. you know.. 9ish range.

BTW, reason why the Civic Si's laggish 0-60 is in the low 7 sec range is because VTEC doesn't kick in until 6K rpm. Get a Hondata reflash and you instantly have a better 0-60 time (with 25 more hp in mid-range!).
