How many powershift at the Track?

Just curious as to how many powershift at the track. I was at the track two weeks ago and without poweshifting, my best was a 14.3 with a 2.30 60"
(i know terrible, the ground was moist from rain showers). while powershifting i ran a 13.92 again with a 2.29 60'.

Im just not sure its worth the abuse to the car for an extra 4 tenths off a second! JMO

Just curious

I don't do it for two reasons.

1)I can't do it properly like 99% of the time
2)the 1% that I can still feels like raping my car.

whats the point of going to the track if ur not gonna do it? The purpose of going to the track is to run balls out and see what you got.

you can run it without powershifting when your gettin on the freeway.

I do it occasionally, it just flys into gear no grinding, nothing. I'm not sure what this hurts. Chevrolet even advertises that the new Colbalt SS/TC can do this.

"The SS Turbo now features "no-lift shift," which allows for quick upshifts without lifting the throttle."

I have INjen CAI, DCRH, skunk2 70mm. I was running BFG KDW on the front. i prob would have run better if the ground wasnt moist. I had zero traction in first.

Yup Etown! I was down there with my brother and his s2k and my friends XLR .

It not bad, I ran better with the same setup in my RSX-s down there before my turbo. I think i can get better if i practice with the car some more. the launch technique is the same but this car grabs a little better but is more difficult not to bog

Its not terrible but its does add stress to your drivetrain. Im not a big fan of it anymore. with the power output our cars put to the wheels stock, probably not to detrimental to the trans/clutch but when adding boost i probably would not recommend unless you want to replace axles and clutches on a weekly basis.

I thought powershifting was when you dont press in the clutch AND dont let off the throttle

our cars are definately not made to be shifted without the clutch. you would need some transmission modding to even think about that
