R18 gearing

Does anybody like the gearing in our cars?
They are pretty long gears, meaning we can go higher speeds in each gear, but its gonna take longer and less RPMS to get there. Our Final drive gear is pretty sporty however.
I kinda wish they gave us a shorter 1st gear at least.

the gearing is decent, I like the length of the gears up until 5th...the RPMs stay a little too high, wish we had a 6th gear.

Shorter 1st gear?! It's short enough, I kinda wished it was a bit longer. 5th gear does suck though, it needs to be a bit longer.

Yea , there are days where I wished I had a 6th gear. Hmmmmmm swap a SI tranny and LSD into a R18.

If i had Vtec envy, i would have purchase an SI.

This is why i don't like some of the SI owners, they think they drive a carrera gt or something like that.

You said you wanted more power in your r18, Honda thought about it before you did and made you the new gen Si available. But you chose to get an r18 instead of a k20 so now please stop crying.

Well, If he wanted more power from his, and I emphasize, his R18. Then Honda didn't address the problem like you stated as the K20 is a different powerplant.

Look, he got what he has and he is stuck with it like me. If he wants more power, like many of us do, then great. What does "should have gotten an Si," do for us? How does that help? Instead, just don't comment as this shit is said non stop by you guys.

So please stop typing.

Yah shorter first and second to be honest.
I can hit almost 100KMS at the end of second gear.
I would rather hit only 80 instead, but get there a tad quicker

Nope. Those two will never be the same as one another regardless of any car.

Thanks for stopping the R18 bashing. I have no idea why Si guys go into R18 thread and do that.

Driving my friend's Si.. I sort of wish we had shorter gears for the performance aspect of it..but I also felt like I was shifting all the time. lol

Our gears are fine, i said we just need more power, a turbo will fix that.

And we don't grind gears.
