(pic/vid)1st time out, poopy run 15.2@92
Only got 2 runs in at norwalk raceway due to people blowing up on the track and a ton of motorcycles. 1st run was an embarassing 16.0@89 and then my last and 2nd run was this timeslip below. I'm kind of disappointed but look forward to going on a night that i can improve over a few runs. Both of these runs i bogged off the line horridly....almost stalled on the 16.0 run. I'm guessing its my 60ft time (bogged launches) that killed me?
could someone host the video i have? thanks |

no problem, im going to redeem myself on wednsday. Going to a closer track with not as many people (norwalk is very well known). I will be able to get more runs in and get better video (sorry about the music playing while i was driving).
ill update this after i go to the track again, hehe. I was just disapointed that i couldn't get it into the 14's, ive been driving hondas for 4 years and pride myself on being able to row the gears. I had a 90 CRX Si with the d16a6 and i could drive the living piss out of it. My good friend at the time had a b16a1 crx and he couldnt pull from me. I had a hybrid zc/si tranny with close ratio gears, port/polish, i/h/e and phantom griop LSD. Certainly not enough to make me run with a car that was identicle and 50 more HP. But ill be damned if i couldnt drive that damn car better than anyone i knew. |

you shift that knob like you want to snap the thing right off. whats up w/ that? you're scaring me there. easy on it pal.
also, u might want to turn the radio off. it will give you faster times because the alternator doenst' have to ask so much of the engine to supply the extra power. haha. |

dragging is never easy, and like others have said there are vast amounts of variables that can help/hurt your run. your shifts sound really slow for some reason though, i don't know if it's the vid or what. Seems like your stompin the clutch and yanking gears like crazy. Finesse is the key. And your launch wasn't that great. But i'm sure you'll be progressing, it just takes time.

i just went out today...it was about 84 out. im really dissapointed. even kids there with gsr swaps and just intake exhaust were runnin 14.7 to 14.9 i really thought i could easily hit 14.8-14.9 ----
my best time was 15.6 with the VSA on. other runs i had it on and off and had a worst of 16.1. my avg was around 15.8. all i have is a twm shift kit and fujita sri. every person at the track was just kinda like damm. i was the only new civic out there, let alone a SI. just wish i could figure out what the problem was. im not the best driver but i sure aint horrible either. |

yeah i turn everything off in the car and just have the heat fan on low to pull some heat out of the engine bay. My first time ever running the stock Si sedan was a 15.966 against a audi TT that did 16.880 haha. then i had two 15.7's in a row against an RX8 that was running 16flat then a 15.540 against the same exact car as mine. the kid just got his two weeks ago along with me only his was silver where as im GG. good times tho, building slowly over the winter and make my debut in the spring i just needed a base to know where im at from the start.
