My very first time at the track

With my complete stock FBP FG2.

It was a great day, 70^F and sunny. I was very nervous because I was competing in the 15.00 and slower bracket class. I got 5 qualifying(sp?) runs Then we went to eliminations. I blew the first run, spun tires for what seemed like forever:

The next couple of runs i got better. Then comes my forth qualifier....

Anyway, I knocked out a CRX first round elims, had a bye second elims, got knocked out by a Miata. The trees were handicapped, I dialed in 15.00 and he dialed in a 15.50. He got the head start and I was right on his bumper at the line.

All in all it was a fun day and I was pretty excited about my 14.8. I am sun burnt like crazy.

Excellent job. I'm assuming that you're stock? I'm glad to hear people taking it off the streets and to the track.

This was your first time on the tracks? nice i havent been to the tracks yet and im planning on it when i get used to my car. how high do you rev it for a good launch.

Yeah, this was my first time to run my car on a drag strip. I was reving my engine according to the lights on the tree. When the 3rd light lit......I reved to 3.5 grand and dumped the clutch.

Good stuff for your first time!!! My first run ever was 3 weeks ago and i hti 15.9 lol i missed second and feel out of vtak damn second gear! but that day i hit a 14.4 im not stock thou :P

I'm going back in June maybe sooner. I plan to have I/H/E, TBS, gaskets, IMG, Ingall's ETD, and maybe some stickier tires. My overall goal for 1/4 mile is ~13.5, but I don't know how long it will be before i get there.
