2nd time to the drag strip in my FA5...been about a year.

Last year I ran a 15.1 stock. Today I ran 14.7 at best. Traction is an issue...launched at 2500 rpms...any higher and I spin out. No wheels hop what so ever...thank God. Temps were around 65 at the time...cross wind at 10mph. Track conditions were good.

VID:
YouTube - Mike's 14.7 Civic Si Run

Mods:
DC Race Header
Modified stock intake
Stock wheels and all weather tires at 20psi in front and 38 in back

Mods that don't really matter imo:
Tanabe Axle Back muffler...not doing anything of course for hp
Comptech Short Shifter
Progress springs with no camber or toe correction...doh!

Car condition:
Full interior with spare tire in the back...nothing removed
Car weighed in at 3050 with me in it.
My car puts 190 whp according to the dyno.
4 Bars of gas left

Pic of stock intake tube how I'm running it (bioevolve did this first...call it the poor man's ice box...gets cool air without the worry of sucking up water...and stock appearance in the engine bay...injen cai I had was better, but my area floods now and then so I had to sell it):
http://www.freedomcomputers.net/civi...onatormod3.JPG

Pics of my slips, I'm car number 3...by the way...a comptech supercharged fg2 ran a 14.6@99 mph with 2.3 60fts...lol. Not impressed.

Sounds like the Comptech fg2 had some traction problems, damn near 100mph trap is impressive IMHO

what happened going into first? rev hang? did you hit rev limiter going into 3rd? Also IMO there is nothing wrong w/ the Comptech SC. bad driver and traction was an issue w/ that guy.

nothing happened in first, once I got traction, I took off...and I never hit the rev limiter...it just makes that sound when I shift because I shifted so fast.

might want to read my first post.

Just so you know, pwrful4 was there with xintake, race header, evo2 cat back, light 17" wheels and hondata...he ran 15.3 at best, but had a 2.5 60ft...and his mph was 91. He had got 13's before the xintake...but at a different track...

The conditions at that track aren't that great, but hondata reflash isn't that big of a deal...I'd much rather have the kpro...like I had on my ep3...

oops my bad! I meant what happened going from first to second? get the reflash to fix that rev hang, and you should get better times.

ah, I know what you're talking about now...I had to watch the vid again. For some reason at the track...it does that...I had to be careful in getting into 2nd...I had grind it twice, so I decided to avoid it by shifting like that...totally forgot about it and was confused about what you were saying..got it now...you think hondata would fix that? I thought the reflash just raised the limiter and changed the caming to avoid cross over delay in VTEC

If i remember correctly, I think the reflash is supposed to come w/ the rev hang fix. I think its a little better than what the honda dealer offers.

if you were more consistant with your shifting plus powershifted you would had seen 14 flat. that was a good launch. you just wasn't consistant with your shifting. work on being consistant then try again.

a stock si with slicks can do low 14s to high 13s. it's all on the driver. for most people this car is hard for them to get good times. the si is capable of mid 14s with all seasons maybe better.

i love my car, but i don't love it much to believe that i can hit low 14's or 13's with it , i'll say with i/h/e reflash and some bfg's maybe high 13's low 14's.Unless the track is downhill.

The problem was "supposed" to be fixed with the 07's, but you know how dumbass honda is. They'll probably blame any rev hang on anything you've done to the car.

I would agree with that.
