VIDEO - First Auto-X of 2008

Running H-Stock, had to put the stock rear Sway Bar back in. Wasn't even really planning on running this car, but the CRX head gasket took a dump and well, no reason to miss a good race day.

08 LX
Stock Goodyear RS-A's, 47psi up front, 38psi out back.

My second choice in music was, "You Spin me right round" by Dead or Alive.
I thought that just a lil too corny.

For $80 camera and $3 in parts to attach it to the rear center headrest, I think it worked out well.

Holy shit that lot was small. And what was up with that car parked there? Were the cones supposed to keep people from hitting it in the event something went wrong?

Being an SCCA Solo Safety Steward as well as being a chief within my region, I'm surprised the car was allowed to stay there. I won't even touch the fact about leaving 75' buffers between solid objects.

Oh yea, that volvo was a big debate this morning, some dufus leaving their car in the college parking lot over the weekend. Campus security was supposed ot have it towed. Long story short, 75 entries, itty bitty venue, next month cancled cause the militry base "lost the paperwork". Oh there would have been a small riot if we didn't run.

Im seriously considering a change in clubs though, this on for me was a 2.5 hour drive. If I drive 3 hours west instead its bigger venues, or 4.5 all the way to Myrtle Beach.

Given the fact it is a college lot, I'd get the club to invest in those "crawlers" you put under the tires and roll the thing out of the way. Plus it would make for a great mind game for the kid who "thought" he left his car in one spot only to find it in another.

yea im still a newb autoxr but that car being there right outside a turn surprized me too . . . i personally wouldnt run my car on a track with the risk of hitting a parked car sitting in the middle of the track

Explanation: 120 days out, submiting paperwork too early, told to do it at 60 days, then told too short of notice i.e. "we dont want to deal with it".

Noted and submitied to the people with the monies. Hence my comment about, wanting to look elsewhere for venues or club change.

We all think were supermen behind the wheel , but you're absolutly correct. As suggested before, something should have been done.

Depending on what else you have done, you'd most likely fall in STS "Street Touring Tire" rather than stock.

You guys don't have end cones in your stop boxes down there? or a requirement to come to a full stop? Up here you get a DNF if you don't come to a full stop in the stop box (the whole car, not just the tires...)

Nice driving BTW, that is a tight / small course, we always hear about how big the events are in the US compared to ours, I've only been to a couple of events that small!!!
