07 Civic Si CIRCLE TRACK!!?? VIDEOS!

So heres the story.. there is a race track about 40 minutes north of me.. i dont drag race so i never went there. well, its not a drag strip its an oval track! So my wife and her family are there with me watching these mostly beat up cars race... then they ask for people in the stands to prove themselves by racing someone else. so me in my infinate wisdom decide this is a great idea. So then im faced with the insurance waiver... oh sh*t. But ive already ran my mouth so i signed. We get out there and im paired with a modded to hell Mucury Marauder... perfect. so we race and i win by the honda badge on my grill. So next up is a miata that looked the part. Im thinking what the hell am i doing.. these guys brought helmets, im borrowing one, there changing tire pressures... i wouldnt know what to drop them to.. and the miata is on dot R compunds. so we race.. i go wide and almost caught up but 3rd gear decided to take a nap... so bouncing off 2nd it is to a sad lose to the miata.

Dude, you totally would've had that Marauder by a mile if you weren't on the outside the whole time! I love how you totally pulled ahead on the far straight away! Great vids sir!

Thanks.. i never been on a track like that. I wasnt sure how grippy it was or what was going to happen. That Merc was a boat next to me... and i got the outside line both races which made it very hard. The Miata blocked me on the back straight... he's just lucky that race didnt go on!

Looks like alot of fun! is your car stock?

Edit:after reading profile i see you have I/H/E, get a hondata and i be that would of made the difference

ummm. i think that track is a half mile at the most, so unless he lapped the marauder 2 times before he finished, i doubt he would have won by a mile....

yeah i believe u on the third gear. You can see it in the vid how u were right there and then u just fall back. I hate miatas. Theres this guy i run into every moring and thinks hes hot stuff and tries to get me to go it seem sometimes and just wanna rip him a new one. He's some older guy too lol. One day i'll send him to work with a crushed ego. Yeah dude get that miata back.

yeah but daytona is that same race only on repeat for 3hours. no thanx. One brief race and random cars facing off is a lot more entertaining to me.

Thanks guys... at the track i only had my header on. I am absolutely determined to go back and win. I need to get more traction though... im thinking a quick fix will be the HFP kit and a rear sway upgrade. I have the Potenza re01r's and they are great with some heat in them.. one lap didnt take care of that though. What am i becomming!!??

Driving to the paddock a few people had mixed comments as i drove by...

"thats the winner right there"
"oh, a little car"
"that looks fast"

it was cool to see take that mercury. Those things have some power and it was modded so even more. Cool to see an fg tearin new ones

to tell you the truth that looks like the most boring and dangerous type of racing there is.... autocross is wayyy more challenging and safer then this

my favorite track is the Tsukuba track, lots of cornering, circle or oval track gets boring after a while and autocross is too much like a baby track. Real race circuit track FTW.

Yes it is boring... i thought i was going to watch some drag racing. But in the end a race is a race so i did it.

And i do autocross... i also participate in nasa track days.

I am absolutely determined to go back and win. I need to get more traction though... im thinking a quick fix will be the HFP kit and a rear sway upgrade. I have the Potenza re01r's and they are great with some heat in them.. one lap didnt take care of that though. What am i becomming!!??
