automatic and manual. i doubt all your mods can amount to being able to shift at desired rpms like yur friend.

your car should out-perform his if transmissions were same.
i would guess something on the sort of timing off the line.

and no need to flame.

how could his car be heavier, because the tranny is auto?.....or because of the add ons?

Simple, automatics gearing is more designed for feul economy:

Compact 5-Speed Automatic Transmission Gear Ratios: 1st: 2.666, 2nd: 1.534, 3rd: 1.022, 4th: 0.721, 5th: 0.525, Reverse: 1.956, Final Drive: 4.437
you can see by the ratios for each gear the manual is capable of putting down roughly 15% more torque to the wheels.

now add the fact that autos rob more power and shift slower and there you have it.

I wanted the Si from day one...I'd rather invest money into the Si instead of the R18...well see what happens? But yes my car is heavier due to the add ons! It's an EX

yeah dude. you should highly consider the SI if you want something more sporty.

i drive 60 miles in somewhat horrible LA traffic all day. im 20, so i obviously cannot afford a toy car and a daily driver.

you gotta choose one or the other bro. if you're too lazy to be clutching all the time, stick with the EX, it's a great car. if you want performance, get the SI. i sacrificed my comfort for performance.

If all ur going to do is race then get the SI, but i have an ex auto myself and even though it has less performance, its still fun to ride and better on fuel. Thats my .02

The 101 is fuxxor at any time, seriously. I'd rather kick myself in the head with a sword than go through that every day.

It suck to hear that you lost, i have never been inside an auto R18 so am not sure how slow they are, i drive a coupe in Manual.

there is a 2 second difference from 0-60 in the Auto vs the Manual

So even with those mods that you have am sure you can't gain 2 seconds.
